Great video. I don’t think anyone else has covered the walk a round. I always kept my docs in a bag with the registration clearly marked on the outside. As for the walk a round, my instructor always drilled in to me to never cut corners. Do a full and complete pre flight inspection. It might save your life.

I agree...my instructor said the same and I follow the checklist even during walk a round. It is easy to get complacent in aviation with repetitions but that is what I try to stay away from 😅 Great to have a fellow irl pilot on the channel here 🤝 Thanks 🙂

Is you battery strong enough to power all the lights throughout the duration of the entire walkaround, especially if you find somenting requiring investigation? Wouldn't be wise to just check the lights (and the stall warning probe for a plane in which it is electeically opearated) first and then turn them off? I woukd also consider lowering the flaps with the power still on, easier to check the flaps mechanisms, with flaps extended. Anyway - when in doubt, follow the POH for a given plane.

Batteries do just fine as usually the walkaround process takes 5 minutes or less but I see your point. On the official C172 checklist, the way you described is how it is done. Flaps was a miss from my end. Good catch!!
