Having recently purchased this aircraft your series has provided first class help to saving me wasting hours of my life, time, as they say, I will never get back!! After considerable practise, and joined Vatsim on a flight to Frankfurt. Confidently when given direct to instructions on approach I defaulted into B737 mode by simply putting the new waypoint to the top of the CDU and pressing NAV. Well, after some very strange behaviour by the aircraft I disconnected, closed the sim and reviewed manuals. Of course, that’s why there is a direct to button on the CDU!!! Reflew the leg all good! It just never pays to assume and race ahead. Thanks again for all your hard work here. Very helpful!! Keith

Dude! These videos were a big help. Thank you so much. This plane is so much more hands on than a Boeing or Airbus that's for sure. With no auto throttle and having to manage the descent for each crossing restriction, this plane really needs a co-pilot. This was my first flight and I will definitely need a few more before I feel comfortable going on Vatsim as there is so much to focus on during the flight. Thanks again and keep the videos coming.

Thank you! The CRJ is definitely something else compared with Boeing and Airbus yes. But after a while you will get the hang of it and flying it will become second nature. The advisory VNAV is a real help, you just have to dail in the VS yourself.

Thanks for these videos. They have been so helpful. It would be wonderful if you would continue... We need a "quick setup mode" (or the ability to save a full set up situation, or save mid flight) so we have more time to practice in the sky. It seems that the new sim update has introduced some new stuttering/frame loss for a lot of people. Maybe that's what's happening to you as well.

Just use the HIGH settings. I have an 47" TV that runs at 30Hz and I Vsynced the sim to those 30 FPS.

It is on the lower pedestal below the audio control panel. One for the CAPT and one for the FO. But it does not work in MSFS yet because simconnect does not have the hooks it needs for such data.

Awesome tutorial series and an awesome aircraft! Just one little thing I noticed: If I want to program a holding, I have the following problem: For example, I want to fly a left turn holding with an inbound crs of 150°. But when I enter in the INBD CRS/DIR "150/L" it shows "131/L". So there is a "offset" of 19° and I have to enter "169/L", so that it shows "150/L". Is this a thing of the CRJ in general or something that needs to be worked on? In addition, the CRJ only follows the holding path with the 1/2 BANK mode correctly, without the 1/2 BANK mode it will not fly the holding properly. Also a thing of the CRJ in general or something that needs to be worked on? But nevertheless: Great aircraft, I really love flying it :D

@@SixFootScream You delete them. Just copy paste the next waypoint on the disco line or use the DEL key and then click on the disco line to delete it. If the disco stays in the flightplan the AP will not fly to the next WP in FMS(NAV) mode but will fly the HDG it had wehn overflying the WP before the disco.

I have mine an the HIGH preset. And I use an external VSYNC to lock at 30FPS as my TV is on 30Hz. This last bit makes a world of difference when it comes to smoothness.

You exit the aircraft like the pax. Then you can, in a not so elegant way, close the door yourself by using muscle strength. Height challenged people will have problems with this though.

You can fly it in VR mode. Unfortunately the HGS is not set to infinity and the CDU LSKs are difficult to use. Apart from that it works!

Hallo kapiten, as I'am used to the airbus I was approaching too slow, like I was setting the vref around 3000 thousand feet I noticed that the aircraft couldn't follow the glide slope and couldn't keep up with the vref due the flaps I guess.. is that a normal behaviour? So we should always keep 180 until 2000 ft? If you do this on the airbus you are going to have a hard time slowing the aircraft haha

The flaps are modeled with an extreme drag factor at the moment. Best to first select F30 and F45 when on the glide. You can capture the glide in a clean configuration with the RW CRJ and still be established at 1000' though. no need to configure as early as you would with an Airbus.
