I remember when msfs first cam out and the clouds looked amazing. then a few updates later and it's absolutely horrible. I hope they fix this in msfs 2024.

I don't have grain issue in normal clouds but I do have the grain issue in the dense storm clouds ...any fix for that?

How do I get rid of the weird looking vertical lines you can see in clouds sometimes? Super annoying and yes I’m using dx12 for frame gen, not switching to dx11

Hello, not sure what that could be. You can try switching cloud settings in the menu to a higher or lower value and see if it helps.

Every time my game resets my usercfg.opt file after restarting the game and I don't know why

Bit late but still might help. Right click your UserCfg.opt file click properties and tick the Read only option at the bottom

Hello, as I mentioned in the video, these adjustments won't get rid of the grain entirely. Sorry to hear that it didn't make much difference for you. What cloud settings do you use in the sim?

@giangutierrez3778 Do not really know what could be the issue. I saw a big difference when I first tried it out.

Have you selected some graphics profile (low, medium, high...) after the file modification? If so, the grainy settings on the text file will return to 1. You can change the graphics settings since you don't select any preset.

If you make any changes to your graphics settings it will put the grain back in. What I did was change my user.cfg file to read only. It made a HUGE difference for me, especially in VR.

Clouds were amazing when MSFS came out. One of the best parts of the sim. These days nowhere near it. 😢😢 wish they'd fix it...

The game has been severely degraded both visually and performance wise over the past two years. 2024 will appear to look amazing, but it will just look like 2020 used to look. It’s a huge SCAM.

To be completely honest I am pretty optimistic about MSFS 2024. We will see what it brings to the table other than missions as promoted in the trailer video. I would appreciate better auto-gen, improved graphics and more customisation options.

Clouds look amazing in MSFS without a doubt but every now and then you can spot grain in them. This video will help you get rid of most of the grain in them.
