MSFS M20R tutorial

Basically this is a how to for the Mooney M20R. Goes over auto pilot, ils landing, mix control, and basic features of the plane.

The speed brake button is on the left handle of the yoke, you’ll have to adjust your view to see it. Left handle on the left side of that handle.

If I leave my speed brake on will the plane roll to the left? Im having that issue since buying it. The indicator is at zero degree's indicated. ?

SH2...I keep being told I need to adjust the fuel mixture...IVe pulled the red head out...more out, stalled the engine..put it in...more in dropped the rpm...just not getting it...landed or restarted engine 4x between Texas and Las Vegas! Public school so....slow some. Secret?

What did you map for the speed brakes? I don't see it in the controls screen when I searched "speed brakes", "air brakes", etc...

Fine! Ennoying is that this expensiv add on has an "known bug": The GNS430 stays dark in switching on the avionik master, no further knob fo "on". :-( and.. after cutting of engine end master the propeller is rotating further.. even after opening the door.. :-)

how do you get the altitude preselector to work? whenever i select the altitude and arm it it doesn't climb or decend. It shows it as captured but im still at the same altitude as i started

@@CRgamingMSFS i checked on the forums. Turns out the the Working Title 530 broke some aircraft autopilots. it works fine once the addon is uninstalled.

?My Mooney Tablet is in the right door pouch. It moves too? My M20R seems to want to roll left. Trim is at 0degrees.

They have made some updates since this video. Trim problems can be caused by the prop rotation or weather.

I've always thought avionics were supposed to stay off until after engine start to prevent a surge

how high can you fly in yours... it says FL200 is its ceiling but i cant get the plane above FL180 without it stalling. (yes fuel mix is fine etc) also the brakes on landing are horrific, it just dont want to stop.

The plane can only make it to max altitude of not overloaded. Keep in mind this plane isn't pressurized, so even with supplemental o2, it likely would not fly that high in real life. As for stopping, make sure to use the spoilers and make sure your engine is not still producing thrust.

@@CRgamingMSFS spoilers don’t really make a difference either, a 747 can stop quicker than The m20r with just it’s brakes. Try landing one at at Bart’s TFFJ or saba they really expose how awful the brakes are It’s possible sure but should be easy for that kinda plane not hard work, stopping from just above stall speed should not take 500 meters! Which means you have to stall it or use the parking brake at saba to “cheese it” as you only have 400m (or set the wind against you to manipulate your air speed vs ground speed) It makes me not want to fly it and I go back to the piper or g35, both have much better brakes and can stop in half the distance.

I've really had no problem stopping. The spoilers should kill the lift making the brakes work better. I have landed it at barts and did not use the full runway.

@@CRgamingMSFS is it an xbox model thing then? because honestly the brakes are horrific, the only way to stop at saba is with parking brake applied and stall it onto the runway, speed brakes don't make any difference on xbox for this plane, i can see they're up but even if you apply them mid flight... nothing, no change in speed. the similar planes i've flown all stop better, and in half the distance, just cant get the m20 to stop like that, its fine for 99.9% of runways of course, but saba is the 0.1%

Speed Break button is on the Yoke, to the left of the Trim button ,then Left of the CWS button. In other words , To the left of the CWS button. I dont know what the CWS button is.

That is correct. I may have misspoke when I was learning to fly this plane.
