Thanks a lot for this, very useful! Since you’re only using the oculus debug tool now to disable ASW, it may be worth mentioning that the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-keypad1 achieves the same thing. Then you don’t need ODT at all anymore. And you can just disable ASW while in the sim with a flight started.

Thanks for all of your great suggestions and hints. Is there a specific setting that will affect the cockpit instrument panel? I have great graphics for the scenery with smooth panning and no tears or artifacts on the exterior views (except that aircraft with fixed landing gear have ghost images around the tires during panning). But for the cockpit, the gauges are clear and crisp but when I look around the interior there are a lot of stutters and hiccups. Thanks again for the great info. Cheers!

I don't have a headset yet, but have an opportunity to pick up a used Quest 2. I keep reading that there are more than one way to open MSFS in VR - steamVR, openXR, or OculusVR. Do these settings work regardless of which way I open MSFS? The settings like those at 4:50 are MSFS game settings? Sorry, the more I research the more confused I get, I have looked at several forum posts, and it is still unclear to me. Thanks for any advice!
@punkish72 жыл бұрын
@@PIEINTHESKYTOURS I've heard great things about the G2, and if it went on sale I would definitely consider it. One thing that seems to be a consistent comment about the G2 is that it is more difficult to get set up, that the software needed is not nearly as user friendly compared to Oculus. I will be using VR mostly for flight and racing sims, so controller performance is not an issue for me.

I now have a Quest 2, with an I-7 12700K along with a 3080ti. Copied your settings, other than not displaying as many ground objects (cars, aircraft, ground crew). I am getting a solid 34-36 fps, but screen door effect is very bad (as it was with the G2). Anything in the distance is a screen door blur (SDE is very apparent when racing in AC also! Getting 75-80 fps). I also get some stutter when flying low and looking straight down at the ground. In your demo flights I do not see that kind of screen door effect, or blurring. Is it there, but doesn't show up in the video capture in the demo? If your display is as clear as it appears in the demo, what settings would you suggest I look to change first to minimize the SDE I am getting? Thank you!

I need some suggestions: for whatever reason I have not been presented yet with the 120hz feature by Oculus. I have tried every trick suggested in the forums and everything Oculus suggested. So..... I am limited to 90hz. I am wondering what Oculus and sim settings you would change if you were running at 90hz instead of 120hz. I have a beefy machine: Intel i9-10900, ASUS 3090 overclocked, 32GB of 3600hz memory, 2 m.2 SSD's, and 4 other SATA SSD's. When I try to use your settings the cockpit looks pretty decent but the ground is jittery. I feel like my machine should produce some pretty awesome results and I used your settings except for the 120hz, but I don't really like the result. I don't want shakey ground. Can you make any suggestions to point me in the right direction for improvements?

All the way i like. and in not busy airport i could get up to 40FPS, in busy up to 30. I just replaced video card with PNY RTX 4070 TI Super Verto Overclocked triple fan 16GB. I kept all settings the same and made sure they are the same. With new card i get exactly SAME FPS!!! Not even 1 more FPS - just same FPS!!! :( Why? I do not want to lower my setting to get more FPS because i can do same thing with my old EVGA RTX 3080 TI card and just return RTX 4070 TI Super. Seem like RTX 4070 TI Super is Garbage. My CPU is i5-13600kf, RAM DDR5 32GB, SSD drive, Windows 10. All drivers are up to date. If i can't get better FPS with RTX 4070 TI Super using same simple settings then what is the purpose in new card. I do not want to see if i get better FPS in standard 2D SF2020 mode because i believe will probably. I used 3D mark to test old card and then new card and i got more FPS with new card - but that was all 2D not VR. Thoughts?
