hmm thank you for this input... tried this tutorial last eve ... Just really wanted to place a custom object no airport. So BGL was just to exclude existing stock object. POLYGON and ArtProj - modelib was for custom object and texture. is it ModelLIB or 2 l's? Checked the SDK comparing folder structure. build was converting PNGs but not moving the glTIF objects.
@mustang603483 жыл бұрын
@@ashmanmedia The name of Modelib, doesn't really matter in the sense that it can be anything you want. I just followed what I type first :) MODELIB , one L. Build does not move anything to the community folder, it just creates all the folders and files in the Packages directory, you have to move the folder (contained within Packages) to the Community folder yourself if you want your project to be there when you reset the sim.

QUESTION! everything has worked out as far as loading the airport. my problem is the runway of the airport has pulled ground surface up, pulling water as well so it looks bizzare and is not functional. Is there a way to put an airport runway in which just lays on top of the generated terrain? THANK YOU!

Hey. Thanks for your video. Great work. Question, i created an airport with buildings of other addons. I see everything correct. But if i share my folder of my own airport with friends, they don't see the airport completely due to the fact that they don't have the other addons installed, were i took my buildings. Is there an easy chance to import these buildings and objects to my own airport folder with SDK. Thanks for an answer 💪

I have followed your instructions but it continues to fail. As a former PP, I flew to my home grass strip, CPF4, and when I went there in MSFS2020, there was a steep hill to get to the hanger area. In reality, this is a level field. I am using SDK 0.10.0 and was wondering if there are changes that are causing my entry to fail. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Hello Mustang there is a new version of SDK as you probably notice, if you are working on the SDK, if you do will you create new video how to put a custom model in flight sim with the SDK 0.12.00 it is quite different, there is a section at the begining when setting up the project it ask for the asset group name and assets group file do you have any idea what that is ?

@gracebyseven3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Would it be essentially the same workflow for editing an excisting airport?
@mustang603483 жыл бұрын
Technically you can't edit an existing airport, what you do is override an existing airport, if there is a building in the wrong place or is the wrong model, you put in an exclusion polygon or rectangle and then replace it with your model, same with taxiway or runway.
@gracebyseven3 жыл бұрын
@@mustang60348 thanks for the reply. I had not looked at it that way, and that makes complete sense. I sorted removing default buildings, but how do we go about removing existing runways/taxiways? Or better yet, editing them if I wanted to bring in my own pavement objects?
@mustang603483 жыл бұрын
@@gracebyseven Just place exclusion rectabgles and square around them, then add runways and taxiways.
@gracebyseven3 жыл бұрын
@@mustang60348 by exclusion rectangles and squares are you referring to exclusion polygons or that something else? Sorry a tad confused, so thanks for the help!
@mustang603483 жыл бұрын
@@gracebyseven No problem, No there are two choices for exclusion, rectangles and polygons. Polygons will exclude most things BUT not all, for example, a polygon will not exclude a custom model that is in the game from someone else but a custom rectangle will. We use polygons most of the time because it will still get rid of the generic buildings, trees etc, but if there is a 'handmade' building, it won't get rid of that but a rectangle will.

I can't figure out the problem I'm having. When I try to build my project which only consists of some polygons to add water to a lake which MSFS did not put water there by default, despite being a very large lake, when I try to build the project, it says: PackageBuilder | Finished, 2 skipped, 0 done and 1 failed, took 0s052ms. ? false returned by Command=BuildPackages Comment=Rebuild the packages whose name correspond to the given filter, and for the given project (default fs-project.xml) NbParam=2 Line=BuildPackages alceslake * "F:\MSFS Addon Projects\AlcesLake\alceslake.xml" "F:\MSFS Addon Projects\AlcesLake" 1 I don't understand what I've done wrong. I've named everything correctly as far as I can tell. I can open the project, load the scenery in the editor and everything appears to be fine, yet I am getting this error.
