I see a lot of people are having trouble with the uncontrollable spinning and I’ve found that if you decrease rotor lateral trim it should help, the control for it is under control trimming surfaces in control options

@@FastTimesVero to take off increase the collective to about 45-50%, just enough to barely get off the ground and you’re gonna start spinning, gently press the rudder to the opposite direction until you start spinning the other way and lightly adjust vice versa until you aren’t spinning at all, that’s the only way I’ve found to be able to get somewhat of a stable flight out of a chopper

I have my hardware setup specifically for helicopters with antitorque pedals and Virpil collective an cyclic controls. Handles fairly well compared to the H145 by Hype Performance. I love that this Bell 407 has an actual trim ball (the H145 did not). I may need to play around with the settings some more but it does seem too easy compared to the real helicopters I fly. For example there doesn't seem to be any transverse flow effect on takeoff. In this regard it handles more like a fixed wing aircraft.

Darn, those seem like major draw-backs. I was going to get some Virpil control and mount them to a chair...but perhaps I should hold back.....what kind of chair is best for the Collective and Cyclic (Virpil)? And did you go ahead and get the CP3 from Virpil as well since it's geared toward the KA-50?

I’m really enjoying the helicopters in MSFS. After a couple days I am able to safely land on Wesh 2 news helipad in Orlando. Enjoying landing at the Statue Liberty island and roof tops.

I don't know how long you've been flying but here are some more tip 1) collective 40% for takeoff 60% for flying 2) when you pitch the nose up keep your rpm down as you will gain altitude when trying to slow down 3) when landing use 20% colllective I hope this helps like he said I'm no pro but this is what I've picked up flying the 407 and 222b

I turned the Anti stall asst off in the pilot asst menu and it helps me To not spin out so much I think. I'm getting used to it the more I fly it. Yeah you have to keep tapping the throttle buttons up and down when landing like you're saying. Good video, It's just something new that we have to get use to. I know I am getting better with it the more I use it. It just takes time to learn it. Slowly increasing and Decreasing the throttle by tapping the buttons back and forth is Paramount. Good video.

Just FYI you probably have a bunch of assistance options enabled that control the rudder for you to keep the helicopter straight unless you are doing any rudder inputs - thats why other players are having more problems than you - a normal pilot has to control the rudder themselfs and constantly adjust rudder input based on rotor torque which is dependend on collective pitch etc - maybe try flying without the assistance enabled ones, that might give you more insight and control too.

@@FastTimesVero Ok thats very odd, so you are actively applying left rudder when ever increasing the collective to take off? In the assistance options - piloting - turn off all helicopter assis options at the bottom and autotrim... Im almost certain you have assistance enabled.

So far I’ve learned how to cold start the a320, 747, 777 and a bunch of props and turbo pops. I also learned how to use AP,VS,VN,AT and a few instrument readings. Good video though!

I have to hand it to you... that is some good work w/ the Xbox controller... flying and panning the camera live. I have a full flight setup on a PC in VR and I struggle to fly the Bell that well. EDIT: That's why they call them skids.

You’re not spinning all over the place because you’re getting assisted help in the pilot settings. Turn your pilot settings all OFF/ no Ai assistance, and I guarantee you you’ll be spinning all over the place.

People are spinning our maybe because of the difficulty settings. I changed my difficulty settings to the hardest, and my helicopter spins out.

It looks like you have a lot of the assists active. I only get that sense of achievement when flying with all assists off.

I think that the throttle is too sensitive, seriously I press A and then I am just up in the air constantly climbing, and when I go to decrease the throttle for landing everything locks up and I can't move or stop falling... really weird. I reset all my settings to see if that worked but it's just overall sensitive as heck. :/

Tap the throttle buttons, Little bits of throttle at a time, Don't hold the buttons down. Slowly increase and Decrease the throttle by tapping the buttons when you do either.

@@GOBUCS82 Yea I've slowly found that to work the best 😂 for some reason though when I go to reduce the throttle to land after flying normal for a good distance I can't control anything... I hang in the air as I slowly drop then right before the ground I get all my controls back. I'm gonna keep playing with the settings could be something there too.

The reason why you guys keep crashing and if you're listening to this fool is because he keeps saying oh bring down the throttle bring down the throttle just keep bringing it down no no no you don't I play in full realism with the helicopter with a controller and a keyboard you don't need the keyboard but you can't when he says throttle he's talking about Collective when you're on the ground you start off at 88% throttle 36% Collective and slowly bring it up and you will lift off the ground remember you have a rotor which is a blade on the tail of the aircraft and that's going to want to push you to the right constantly so be right there with the left rudder

Bro this shit is so lame. Every time I even tap A on Xbox, I shoot 2000 feet into the air instantly. I hit left on the joystick and the aircraft starts spinning right. I hit right on the joystick and it also starts spinning right. NOTHING TURNS LEFT. After spending about 30 minutes of just spinning in circles and crashing into a nearby apartment complex (lol), I gave up on this. What a bummer, I thought this was gonna be a cool game :/

This is an alpha product, not even to Beta (as evident in it's very broken inputs on hand controller). Either shut this product down or fix the issues. There is no between with an air-vessel of this magnitude. The only person who could fly this without any help, is Bond, James Bond.
