Thermal is quite good in its class (better than Lenovos and some of the more expensive ASUS ROGs). I buy a $30 Cooler Master cooling pad, and that's even better. Can reduce the heat about 10-15 degree. And all laptops ofc will bend if you press hard on purpose (Well, except Macs). I own this laptop and so far I am very satisfied with my purchase. I have had my GL75 95DK for a year now.I believe the unit reviewed here has the same keyboard as mine.I can live with the mediocre battery, but there are 3 major problems with the keyboard.First I have still never gotten used to the feel which causes errors.I can never "feel" where I am on the keys like with my 2011 Macbook and cheapo 2013 Samsung.Definitely slows me down. The keys tilt instead of moving up and down and makes me often tap the space bar without it responding.Second you can't dim the keyboard which is needed. Most keyboard light settings are a freaking unwanted light show.I like illuminated on the light green color, the only one that doesn't move around but is too bright sometimes with some uses like streaming videos..I usually turn the lit keyboard off.Thirdly, many of the letters look something like Russian and the @#$%^&*+ etc.are very very small. These things have slowed down my keyboarding noticably.Otherwise I like the 144 hertz screen and fast processing.MSI PLEASE CHANGE THIS KEYBOARD !!

Young lady you hit the nail on the head with this one!! I returned my GS66 for the GE66 Raider. I went through 3 of them!! The screen on the first two popped out after about 3 days of use and also had horrible screen bleeding. Not cool considering the $2100 price. You also mentioned the light bar. Well I had the same problem. It sticks out and actually keep scratching my wrist on the right side when using the mouse. Was also getting a lot of dust in the gaps. There sadly seems to be no quality control with MSI, as every unit had scratches, fingerprints and well the build on each machine was just horrible. So many disappointing things about this machine and I don’t get all the good reviews. I’m assuming all the great reviews via Best But are because when you open the box the first thing you see is an ad to post a review for a free gaming headset. I would not recommend any MSI laptop to any body at this point to be honest. 5 laptops, all with major defects? Very sad!! Anyways. Thank you again for a great unbiased review.

I had the laptop for a solid 2 months and I do agree when it comes to the light bar issue. However, I didn’t experience any screen issues and had no cosmetic blemishes. It’s gonna be different for everyone, will acknowledge that. Especially at the price point of $1600 with a 3 year warranty attached is a great buy for me.

Keyboard is excellent in my opinion and temps stay around 60-70 Celsius while the surface is completely cool to the touch. Built well but more importantly faster and snappier for daily use and productivity.

Great review weighing both pros and cons. I was on the fence between this computer and the M1 Pro Max. However I found a good deal for the GE66 which makes it almost 1500 cheaper than the Apple the way I would spec it and I'm a PC user anyway. I don't use it on the go so build quality and battery life are not really relevant for my use case. As I havent paid the premium price I will take the gamble that it will last in my hands and save the 1500 for my next machine.

Why did you say that the keyboard LED is even throughout? Number one, it's not and I can even see it in the clip that you showed while saying that. Number two, you used the keyboard's multicolor mode to test whether lighting is even throughout? I own one of these and I can tell you that the lighting looks like garbage. A solid color white results in some keys looking blue, some purple, and some keys blue on one side and purple on the other. It's horrible.

Overpriced plastic crap like most windows laptops; good internals (save money on the external chassis by using plastic!), but they break after 2 years use. I have done 6 windows laptops in in the last 5 years, but my macbook air is still without a dent in it. The Asus Tuf i am using to type with now already has a broken plastic corner, and missing ctrl key. The only windows laptops worth buying are ones with metal chassis. If plastic... guaranteed broken parts on the chassis within 2 years unusable. Laptops of this price range should have much higher grade materials for the chassis, and more durable build quality
