Things i forgot to mention: - The specific model I've tested is the Katana GF76 11UD - The Laptop surface does not get very hot, it's actually quite acceptable. - And thanks to the msi software the fans can be controlled. On Full speed they are (of course) pretty loud, but I've had louder laptops. - As far as I could find out the USB-C does NOT support Thunderbolt. It can be used to charge Smartphones though.

I confirm it to you, friend, I have that model and when I play heavy games (genshin impact and others) the laptop does not represent lag, obstacles or overheating it barely reaches 70 or 80 but when having the fans at maximum (use headphones) it drops to 45 (depending of the heavy game you are playing)

I got mine with the i5 version. The cpu temperature is really worrying me since my previous laptop die from overheating. I think this is the general problem of the 11th gen intel cpu processors but not the laptop's fault. Should just watch this video before buying this, this is really a nice and honest review.(yeah why dont they just place the usb2.0 on the right side )

@@vekfoled8965 So far so good. It went like 85-90 degree celcius while gaming but if you done playing, with the cooler boost you can get down to 55-65 degree within 30sec. So unless you're a Ultra setting+200 fps gamer, otherwise I'm kinda recommend this laptop since it is working fine for me(Dota2, far cry, valorant etc)

Many laptop GPUs can't be overclocked that way. I speak from experience. They don't allow voltage Control so curve overclocking or undervolting is not possible. Unfortunately.

Idk, Radean tend to age pretty well than Nvidia counterpart, I saw R9 290 can play RDR 2 High Setting very well, compared to Nvidia offering at that time, nowwhere near it. I guess Radeon involvement in Console components is one of the factor.

I have this exact same laptop. I suspect i may have the higher wattage version though. It gets VERY hot. Battery is garbage. But, it runs VERY well. As long as its plugged in. I think my battery is just faulty. I love the computer, but there are a few things left to be desired. 100% agree the usb 2.0 should be on the right side. The trackpad should be moved farther right, as your palm will hit it while gaming. It's right below wasd. Also, after time the trackpad rattles a little when tapping it, but im usually using the he mouse anyway. The only real dealbreaker is the battery. It only gets that hot when gaming while plugged in. Unless, the gpu and cpu get more wattage when plugged in?!?! Could accout for higher temps. But, im pretty sure its the battery. Make sure to check the manufacture date, as these have been out for a few years. I bought mine 8 or 10 months ago, but it was made in 2022. It sat on a shelf for a year and a half. That being said, i love it. I'll get the battery fixed. In March 2024, don't pay $1000 for it. If you can get it for $700, buy it.

@@2_S1MPLE it just came a couple of days ago so I've been putting it through some tests, the screen seems great, struggling with battery life, getting a couple of hours out of it, but wow you talk about powering up and recharging fast! I haven't exactly timed it but I'm guessing about 30 to 35 minutes to fully charge the battery! I was nervous about it being loud, and it is quiet as a mouse! Now I have the 17in so I think that helps, but I haven't had it under any serious gaming situations yet although I have played a little bit of Halo 4, and the fan barely turns on

Back 4 Blood isn't a demanding game so you could easily run it maxed out on a 3050ti I think. Vanguard you could also get 60 fps running it on high settings or thereabouts, but you'll get dips at graphic-intensive moments.

So I have an HP victus and this exact same MSI katana and both laptops have the same exact specs. with that being said the Katana when playing SWTOR lags like crazy and most games don't run as well. After watching every video on the internet trying to figure out why I ended up accidentally answering my own question when I used the power supply that came with my HP victus in my MSI they have the exact same connector. The HP power supply is 200 Watts and the power supply that came with the Katana is only 150 watts. And as it appears is underpowered and causing poor performance in games. I want to purchase a 200 watt power supply for the Katana but I also don't want to damage the computer. Do you know if it is safe to do so?

Wow thats an interesting find. Thanks for sharing. To be honest I have no experience with that and can't tell you if it could damage your laptop. In theory it should not if Voltage and ampere are the same on both of them, and many laptops use much stronger power adapters than they need. But again: I don't really know.

No. This cpus tMax (maximum safe temperature) is 100 degrees C°. Modern pcs throttle the cpu as soon as they are near that value to prevent damage. Don't worry about the life of the cpu because it has a high temperature. It might be necessary after a few years to renew the Thermal paste though.

hello brother! I am planning to buy a notebook, I am between this one that has i7 11800h and 3050ti 4gb, or msi steal i7 11375h and 3060 6gb. The i7 of the sword is more powerful, that makes the difference minimal or there is still a lot of difference if one has a 3050ti and the other 3060. The i7 of the sword is 30/40% faster than the steal, but the steal has a 3060. Help brother, I have had this question for a long time!!!

Tough question. For now the 3060 system might be better. But in the long run the cpu is getting more important. Maybe in 3-4 years there are games that will actually run smoother on the 3050 system as it has the better cpu. If your GPU is bottlenecking you can lower the graphics. If the cpu is bottlenecking... You're fucked. If you plan on playing games that aren't cpu bound, the 3060 is the better choice though. But I'm sure it's a low power version?

That's a good score indeed. It's a complete 1 click benchmark test that runs for 30 minutes and tests basically ALOT of different things on the laptop. It just gives a good overall score of a PC in general. 6400 is just as good a a fast Desktop PC in 2021.

A GPU should always be at 99-100%. The only scenario in which that should not apply is when you cap the fps at a certain number to save energy. So you WANT the GPU to be at 99-100% at all times :)

@@vekfoled8965 Its too good,bro, I saw a video of this(many) and honestly the i7 11800h is better than the ryzen 7 4800h but yes, if you get the RTX 3060 version better because I have the 3050ti (it is almost like a 1660ti in performance) heating without words, If you use headphones the cooler bosst of 70C ° or 80C ° (it does not reach more in my case) lowers it to 44C ° and performance to spare the construction(plastic) but that if I feel resistant but please take care of him. I give it an 8.5 / 10 for the construction (plastic) and the graph that I have for the price that I obtained in my country (1674 dollars) Psdt: sorry if you dont understand ,inglish not my main leguaje

That's because 8 GB usually come as a single stick these days. Meaning you'll only have singlen channel mode which can reduce the fps by 10-20%. And in newer games like Warzone it can cause heavy stuttering.

Usually this is the same for all Laptops. It can be done in a windows option called "Graphic Settings". Press the windows button and type "graphic" it should appear.

If you can't have a good portability with a laptop that costs you £1,300 because of lack of power go just build a good gaming pc with better performance. You can't carry around any of them anyways. At least with a pc you have a better overall gaming experience.
