IT has to do w/ how he configured it. Static contrast is listed as 1000:1, so hes probably wrong. He did mention he could be. Wed have to see what others configure it to be. RTINGS is another reviewer to watch. This is a new monitor and harder to find as a result, so its not as heavily reviewed yet.

I just saw Hardware Unboxed's review on this monitor and he said that it was oversaturated without recalibrating it on our own, I was wondering if it's the same with you. Do I need some sort of special tool like the one on 0:54? Can I just simply decrease the saturation on the control panel or in the monitor settings on the MSI OSD?

Yeah there are discrepancies w/ the hardware unboxed review. You should check them out. Contrast, pixel response, and out of the box colors just to name a few. They got much better contrast, faster pixel response times (1 ms), and worse out of the box color. The reason you didn't see better pixel response is due to the fact that they test tighter color timings that aren't as spread out as you. So indeed, certain pixel response times, depending on the transition are at the 1 ms range. Of course, in practice that means bubkiss because of the massive overshoot that results.

Don't use SPYDER to measuring contrast ratio, the number is always inaccurate, and get much lower than actual, you might considering to buy one i1 display pro.

0:26 it’s best to clarify which of the two technology the monitor natively supports. Since there is a difference between one that natively supports freesync and is gsync compatible and ones that have a gsync module that supports freesync.

I just received mine last night! This is my very first IPS high refresh rate panel, and it looks great! I'm using G-Sync and naturally have no idea what I'm doing, so it'll take me some time to optimize it completely. I am currently running 1440p 165hz. Be aware, mine booted running 4k at 60hz which requires you to adjust the display resolution in windows first before making Nvidia adjustments.

@@dih1125 lol yes, it's horrendous looking straight out of the box. I'll list my current settings that are relevant to what I changed. Gaming Tab: Game mode set to user every other setting is off except for adaptive sync and response time is on "fast". Professional tab: Pro mode set to user and everything else off. Image tab: brightness 60, contrast 70, sharpness 0, color temp normal. Hopefully this is everything! I haven't touched the settings since I first set it up, enjoy your monitor!!!

I notice my MAF274QRF-QD doing some automatic HDR kinda like when playing videos (KZbin, Netflix, etc). I already make sure the Windows and Monitor HDR mode is already OFF. Anyone experience this or know how to solve this problem? It's a little bit annoying since-if it's not too much HDR activated-the monitor acting like blinking. Thank you for the help.

I was looking to buy this over lg gp-850 due to this being better contrast I saw on hardware unboxed they measure over 1000:1 are you sure you measurements are correct? Firstly, all of the 240hz don't come in IPS, which means not good for content creation. Secondly, the colours on a lot of the 240hz monitors aren't good either. So you don't have much luck.

Hello, does the USB Type C also transmits the USB Type A input devices? For example, if I connect my mouse and keyboard to the USB A ports and connect my laptop to the USB Type C, will I be able to control the laptop with the input devices? Will such a setup also transmit the video signal from the laptop to the screen?

I have this model shipped new to me on June 10, 2021. I do not have that horrendous backlight bleed seen in this video. And it's sitting right next to a 5 year old BenQ AMVA monitor which has an excellent contrast ratio. The level of black on this MSI IPS quantum dot monitor is quite satisfactory (even in a dark room, gaming, at night). This MSI 2560x1440 gaming monitor is an excellent piece of kit.
