Hello I have this model and I’m having an issue with it. I believe it is a hardware issue because the laptop display does not show anything at all, yet the computer still turns on and the keyboard rgb is visible. When I connect the laptop to an external monitor, it displays on them. Can anybody tell me what the possible issue could be?

I just bought this with an I9 12900h, 3080ti, 32gigs of ddr5, not ddr4. I guess there are many different configurations of this machine. It's a lot of hardware for $2k, I just couldn't pass on it. Cheers 🍻

@@jaydenkoopmans4425: Yep, we got the same deal. It's the best hardware currently available from anybody at an almost unbelievable price. Anybody that can afford this should, a deal like this won't last. I do believe I'll be adding a 2nd SSD to it at some point, but otherwise it's a killer machine at a fantastic price point. My only regret so far is that I only bought 1 of them. I could sit one in the closet for 3 months and make money on it after all the holiday noise is done. Cheers 🍻

@@jaydenkoopmans4425: This is one helluva first PC. The fans are going to make some noise when you start working it, but you've definitely got the power to do that work! And you have a spare M.2 slot when you need to add more storage. It's nice to have a drive for the windows operating system and a second drive just for programs and games etc. But with this level of hardware and performance, I doubt there would even be a measurable difference let alone a perceived one. But the RAM and storage are the only two up-gradable things on this laptop (maybe also a battery), you can go up to 64 gigs of RAM and storage wise up to whatever you can afford in an M.2 form factor. I think you're really going to like this laptop, hell, I think anybody would really like this thing. Cheers 🍻

Excellent video, along with your other MSI one... between them I realised I'm under-prepared, and prompted me to invest in a decent stack of picks, after which, the instructures were extremely simply to follow. You have to question, why do they make these laptops so difficult to get into? Its seriously counter-intuitive and will lead to more customers damaging them and claiming warranty...

you definitely can put gen 3 nvme drives in a gen 4 slot. The drives will operate at gen 3 speed. The slot will not make them faster but if you want cheaper drives or have some old ones to re-use, you defintely can.

No. It's only ddr4 compatible. But this laptop has the higher end version which comes with DDR5 with RTX 3080

Hi, same to me, I replaced the factory thermal paste with an Artctic MX4, and results were similar. Also damaged a heatsink screw holder in the preocess and had to replace it with a screw and a nut.

ddr4 and ddr5 are not interchangable. If you like this laptop but want the ddr5 version you have to get the GE76 or GE66. The GP76 and GP66 are the slightly cheaper version with ddr4 instead of ddr5 and slightly lower max wattage.

@@SynsterGates666 Not really worth it currently. The ddr5 currently being used isn't that much faster than the decent current ddr4 and the cas latency on the early ddr5 is terrible. I definitely wouldn't spend more just to get ddr5 right now but by next year I'm betting we will have much better ddr5 that will be worth the upgrade.

I just figured I could help out since I have been researching exactly this and have the information to help another person out. Also I have a desktop PC with ddr5 6000 CL36 and it doesn't really make much difference over my old setup that had ddr4 3200 CL14.

That's what bugs me, they just keep using the same cooling design. And the CPU is always left with only 2 heatpipes which can lead to high temperatures, especially with the 12th Gen increasing the number of cores.
