No one can touch Tops but this Condor version looks great value. The problem I have with my Condor knives is if you get a good one then you are on to a winner but I have found that their quality control a bit hit and miss so sometimes you need to put in a lot of work on the edges to bring them up to what they should be.

Ok, I bought 1. It was primitive b line, or second. Gave 126, not terrible, but 1075, made in El Salvador. Came super dull. Tops make his top shelf knives, elite and so on, all same design. Now I know tops makes operator 7 from 1075, huge chunk of steel, 7 inch blade, 1/4 inch thick or thicker. Priced around 150 from Tops. My question is, why doesn't he let tops make even the budget versions. Still plenty of room for profit, especially at the amount David would be purchasing, and Tops having their brand introduced to customers who may not know who they r?

Finally this knife came out on a reasonable price point. The leather sheet is a bit to big but non the less it is included and it keep the knife safely inside. Also the Kydex sheet for around 30 $ is a really good deal. I like the Kydex because it makes for a smaller package but any way 30 $ is a good price for it and it is available . Also carbon steel means easy to sharpen this is super important for a knife that will be abused. The last thing you need is to spend 3 hours sharpening a knife after you accidently hit a little rock and damage the edge a bit.

When i first saw this thumbnail, i thought this was a Condor knife review. As it sits though, i can't really see myself buying this knife. It looks to be well made and high quality but that price point just keeps sticking in my craw. For that price I'd rather wait, save some more, and buy a Helle Lapland which is one of my bucket list knives

@@Tctbnl I get that way with almosy any fixed blade knife. I wanted a Lappland and it was a $120 knife. I held off and the price has doubled because of inflation and lack of steel production. Wanted a Cretan hunting knife, held off because i think it was an $80, and the company that made them went out of buisness. Sometimes hesitating to pull the trigger allows yoy think things through and clear your head. Other times, your patience can just screw you over and it sucks when that happens
