I love Layering Percussion with Live Looping (Boss RC-600 Loop Station). Do you use any unique instruments in your looping? I have become a big fan of layering percussions - i find it very effective! Yes i just got one yesterday BOSS 600 🥰 i also picked up some percussion instruments and have a violin/fiddle, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, tin whistles, native flute, kalimba, toy ukuele, harmonica and a keyboard that i am relearning and learning to add to my music. I am mainly instrumental but started singing last year. Super excited about this journey. I ha e my first solo.full length live show in July. Lots of practicing to do 🤣. Was hoping for a couple of basic songs for july. But seriously your videos have been amazing. Thanks so much.

I totally agree about no long set up and you did a great demonstration of that! Very useful for me as it showed me that the pedal can work how I want to use it. Other people don't seem to be starting with their own first loop to set the tempo....

What’s the most common way you’re noticing? Do you think people prerecord their first loop or use the built in rhythms?

@@EmilyMcVicker I've watched SO many videos about it now and have a very bad memory, lol, so not sure?!...it struck me that you were by far doing the closest to what I do. I've also been looking at a Facebook page about it. Some people seem to have all their loops pre recorded before they start. Also some people love the pedal and have had no problems with it, and others have unresolvable problems. For now I'm sticking with my Electroharmonix22500 and several mini pedals for effects as it's easy to change things quickly as I want and to see what's on and off! I don't want to plan songs out in advance....

Yes, and… I’ll stray off topic slightly! I started watching some of your KZbin videos a few weeks ago, realized you were in Seattle (I’m from the area myself) and I have been getting back into music. Your voice and musical talents are incredible! My initial curiosity is how you got into music, how you learned and honed your craft, and anything else you’d be willing to share as an ‘autobiography’! I am a only a beginner, but I have great fun to work with this loop. What I have done since I bought it last week, is to find a rythm from the loop, and use that to play guitar rythm, and after that some soloing... Verry fun! -Im not so creative as you, and I have a lot to learn.... :-) To day i have been working with : "isnt she lovely"... ( Stevie Wonder) + "Blue bossa" ... I also try at some of your music...

I do love some things about the 600. I haven’t played out. With it nearly as much as the 300, just cuz I’m creating so much more from home and for twitch now. I miss the big buttons of the 300. And the simple layout. I have new gripes about the 600, but it’s my main one now

How do you make it so the mic doesn’t pick up the loop when you play the shaker please. Thanks for the videos. My mic always picks up the loop and it ruins it

Couple tricks. In these videos, I’m wearing in ear monitors. So the loops aren’t playing in the room at all. In my live shows I’ve started wearing in ears too. But when I use a floor wedge, it’s important to point it in a way that the mic will pick it up LESS. That is also another reason to record percussion first. Is you add percussion w/ any pitches going, it will bastardize the percussion tracks with notes. It can be a little tricky and every space is different. So trial and error.

This is some of the best stuff I've heard you do. The body percussion reminded me I should try to put Imagine Dragon's "It's Time" back into my set at some point. BTW I notice you do a "double foot stop" for Tracks 1 and 3 at some point. You know you can program your All Start/Stop button to only affect certain tracks, right?
