Jensen actually made his voice deeper because the show was only meant to go on for like 3 seasons and because Jeffery dean morgan(Sam and deans dad) had a deep voice jensen made his voice deeper to match Jefferys voice and jensens voice getting deeper as he got older meant that jensen had to make deans voice deeper and the length of supernatural meant that jensens voice kept getting deeper he said at a convention that he wished he never did that
