Fun fact: after Ed recorded this he called James Acaster who was in America. James ignored the first calls cause he thought they were a mistake and didn’t want Ed to waste money. However when Ed kept calling he answered in case it was an emergency only to hear Ed giggling down the line telling him he was doing Drunk History. This then started a tradition of other comedians drunk calling James after doing the show cause Ed told them to. Also, Ed passed out on the sofa and was still there when Nish Kumar arrived to record his episode in the afternoon. Ed then woke up when Nish was filming, invaded his set, and kept interrupting him. Basically Ed Gamble is a little shit and I love it.

As a t1 of 32 years who partied hard in the early 2000s including lots of vodka red bull (full sugar) it’s not as bad as you might think. Also with a CGM and Pump it’s fully manageable. It the next day or day three (if you on a lads weekend) that the hypos start. The risk with beer in particular is the glucose is very quick acting and leaves quickly so you can’t really carb count. Ed is drinking white spirits (vodka and gin) so no carbs at all and probably sugar free red bull. Diabetes isn’t a blocker to alcohol or fun
