I’m Spanish and don’t eat much Korean food but saw this at Costco today and decided to give a try and was pleasantly surprised, I loved it and will buy again. My only complaint was tiny amount of meat, your sirloin beef suggestion was good, I’ve used that meat as a fast way to make other recipes. Finally I don’t hate mushrooms but I don’t enjoy them much, but in this dish I really didn’t taste the mushrooms, they almost tasted like more pieces of meat.

Do shitaki mushrooms have a taste/texture similar to meat. That’s why I’m china vegetarians use it to make vegan meat dishes ;) yea I wish there’s more meat in there

I like that they have the spinach and sesame oil in separate packets cause I don't add those. I added Stir Fry Veggie mix found in Frozen Section of Costco and added some butter and served it with Costco Kimchi and it was great. BTW, the beef was decent. No complaints about the beef.

I brought this Costco japchae to camping…we were in a cabin with a kitchen. I had to watch and see how people made it in the you tube channel. Here’s how I made it: (the first time & it turned out not soupy how I like it.) 1)cut up the beef smaller ( it’s only a flavor enhancer-add more if this going to be the main entree). 2) sautee beef in a little bit of oil, can add garlic if you want to flavor the oil. I didn’t add garlic. Although I love garlic. 3) scoop up and put it in a little bowl. 4)add the veggie water (2 packets). And also add the dried up seasonings. It’ll have the chance to soak up soup/veggie water. Bring to a boil. 5) add the 2 packs of noodles. Keep turning. But be gentle. Don’t want to break up the noodles. I covered the pot for a few minutes till the noodles are loose. 6)uncover the pot, keep turning the noodles over until the noodles are completely loosen. Then drain. 7) turn the heat off. Add the packet of sauce little by little. Or half of it. And GENTLY toss. Add the sesame oil. Little by little. Serve. As for the excess soup, that’s veggie water. So I ate it with rice. And added a little bit of the sauce and sesame oil. Along with some eggs. It’s my little treat. Enjoy! By the way, it’s good served cold with with green lettuce salad. I had a little bit of Cesar salad. It’s pretty tasty!

I had this last night. Considering the price, I give it a 2/10. The amount of spinach was ridiculous. Can't see anybody buying this again after the first time. Very nice review, thanks.
