It's bizarre that many of these stars are undeniably gorgeous, yet they apparently don't meet Hollywood's warped standards of beauty. For instance, former Disney actor Kay Panabaker, was told that she needed to loose weight to be considered for a love interest role. She considered that to be a ridiculous reason to lose weight, which partially contributed to her leaving Hollywood behind entirely.

Wow? Jennifer Lawrence?!? I thought she looked like a healthy active woman. Not at all overweight. People seem to forget there is the other side to this coin. In highschool, I would have GLADLY gained weight if it meant I would finally fill out a " full b sized cup"!!! And you know what? It's not the men that care! Women do this to each other!!!!!. I was a sexually healthy young woman, and I don't recall one single man ever being anything but really happy and grateful to get me out of my clothes or into a small bikini 👙😅 as was i with them. All are incredibly talented and beautiful women. One not mentioned is Sophia Loren. Producers and camera crew complained that not having a pretty face made it difficult to make her look attractive on film. She responded with one of my all time favorite quotes. “Certainly, I do not have a pretty face. I have a particular one. You just need to learn how to film it”.

Brandy should've made this list as well. At age 14, she was permitted from going to an audition that the other girls in class were going to, all because her high school guidance counselor (who was in charge of scouting talent at her school) said she wasn't "drop dead gorgeous". You forgot the very rude comments about her appearance Kate Winslet got from the presse after Titanic came out. She was wearing size 4 and yet they still managed to fat shame her. I worked in production and media relations the film/tv Industry for many years. When I was young, I thought I wanted to be an actress and did a fair amount of stage work and also earned a degree in theater from UCLA. I enjoyed it. However, dealing with actual Hollywood was a totally different thing and I soon realized that I didn't have what the above women had (massive talent, strong passion to succeed, a tough skin etc), and moved to the other side of the camera. I worked hard, had a great career and have great memories of my time in the Industry. I also have great admiration for these women in the piece as I know what they faced.

In Spanish there is a saying that says that "there are no ugly women, just ones that don't gussie themselves up". Every female is inherently beautiful, but needs to be put together: clothes, hair, makeup, tidy etc.,in whatever amount or combo thereof, and she's good to go. Just being the best version of yourself. All of the women in this video are beautiful and more so, when you see their personalities shine through their characters. There was a famous actress Susan Saint James who was auditioning for the movie, Love at First Bite, who was told she was not beautiful enough for the part of the leading lady. She responded " I can act beautiful". She got the part. It works. I have seen women who acted beautiful, with charm and grace, who elevated their beauty. Confidence is another beautifier.

In Hollywood, you have two types of actors that make it. Those that fit a trope, and are generic enough in a beautiful way, that any random Jane and Joe can identify as them and feel beautiful by proxy, and then those, that are unique, and create a name for themselves on pure merit alone. I was surprised to see Winona Ryder on this list because I always thought she was very pretty. When I first saw the 1994 adaptation of Little Women and saw that she was Jo March, I first thought she would be too good looking to play Jo. In the early years of Hollywood, there was the case of Norma Shearer when she asked for a chance to legendary producers Mack Sennett and Florence Ziegfeld they told her that she wasn't pretty enough to be in the show business because of her cross eyes problem, but got the attention of MGM's Irving Thalberg (who latter became her husband) so with the time Norma Shearer became the Queen of the MGM and the rest is history
