Whoa! I-I was-I was wrong” which no doubt implies that at that moment the ladies had begun cleaning his private areas. Music/Art programs being cut: yep. I went to a small private school for 1-12 (my graduating class was a grand total of 52 people), and the art program was an absolute joke. The teacher had a yearly supply budget of $1000 FOR THE WHOLE SCHOOL, 1-12. And yet somehow the football team had new jerseys every fucking year. I was always the artistic kid (as in I went to art school for college and have been working as an illustrator/designer/colorist for the last 15 years as an adult). My senior year, _I was the ENTIRE Art II class._ The teacher taught all of my friends Art I in the same class and taught me Art II separately. My senior year I literally brought in HALF of the school's art points at the district level academics & art meet. I was also a theater rat, and THAT program had it just as bad. We had a production budget of $500 and depended on ticket sales from the previous production in order to be able to do ANYTHING. I was eventually the head of crew, and we had to work in a sweltering attic that had no AC (in TEXAS!) because the school somehow just couldn't find any other space for us. That didn't change until one of my crew members fell off of the walkway and came through the ceiling to land squarely in the middle of the principal's desk. And when my dad donated some nice two way radios and head sets for me to use with my crew (he was a Kenwood radio dealer back then), he had to SPECIFY to the school that the radios were FOR THE THEATER PROGRAM and there would be hell to pay if they ended up on the football field. The arts just enrich minds, encourage creativity, and make the world a better place. _Better fund brain damage with no benefit after high school for the majority of kids instead!_ 🙄
