Actually as an Italian it was absurd listening to Jared Leto speaking. It sounds like a very bad parody of an Italian speaker. Here in Italy, there so many bad reviews about his acting performance and many are actually offended by it. Mostly, because Paolo Gucci was portrayed as stupid, when apparently it was completely different from the reality.
@koyuki902 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's very stereotypical. But I personally laughed for this same reason and found it funny. Maybe it was done for some sort of comical relief.
@lupigna34122 жыл бұрын
@@koyuki90 Because it was so stereotypical it was cringe. He exaggerated the accent so much. Try to imagine the opposite situation, if in a foreign movie an American character was going to be described with the worst stereotypical characteristics without any apparent reason, wouldn't you be bothered about it? I would have understood if there were reasons for making it comical, however Paolo's description in the movie is completely different from the real person and, somehow, the real facts. In my opinion, unfortunately it seems rather the production failed doing all their researches or they decide to distort the reality to make this movie.
@koyuki902 жыл бұрын
@@lupigna3412 Fair observation. By the way I found funny how really Hollywood seem to hold dear their stereotypes about other countries. Right now I live in the UK but I lived in Northern Italy for most of my life and I remember saying to myself while watching the movie that I've never seen a elderly woman wearing that shoulder cloth I saw in a scene, yet somehow in American movies about Italy, you always find this kind of lady. That's what I found hilarious, basically. The lack of realistic portrayal is lazy and laughable.

I loved the movie, and yet, I also appreciate finding out the truth of the situation. The movie didn't bring out that Maurizio deserted his wife and 2 daughters, without any contact with any of them for weeks. They literally had no idea where he was. Patrizia was not the only bad guy in the movie. Maurezio deserves a good part of the blame for turning his uncle in for taxes, and basically, he is the one who ruined his own family. His mishandling of the House of Gucci when he was the only Gucci proved that.

The film is terrific - perfect acting, wonderful visuals, colourful, entertaining and FUN...but if anything,they glossed over how absolutely vile Patrizia is. Mauritzio was for the most part exactly as he was portrayed. One fact they never showed - the porter who attempted to defend Mauritzio from the assassin was shot himself but despite this cradled the dying Mauritzio in his arms, amazingly brave and it must of been a comfort for his family that he did not die alone. Believe it or not, Patrizia won the right to receive money from the Gucci estate and still does to this day.

She keeps saying how Patricia was not a gold digger yet it is stated that before meeting Mauricio she was engaged to another wealthy man, but called the engagement off because he did not have a big enough name to go along with his money. Sounds like a gold digger to me.

Actually Ms Mojo need to watch the movie first before handing out the “ wrongs”. In the movie they clearly showed almost all the aspects of real “ Patrizia’s intensity “. It crams a lot, specifically over 30 years of family history into a two-hour film, and gets quite a few minor and major details mixed up, but ultimately, the performances and filmmaking make up for that. Hopefully, this will also appeal to younger audiences who won't take this film's message the wrong way by identifying with a raging psychopath who conspired in having their spouse murdered, as an attempt to reclaim the wealth that they never earned or deserved in the first place. 3.5/5
