Honorable Mention: Maya Angelou - Writer, Poet and Actress. She became a mute as a child because of domestic abuse. Loved her guest appearances on Sesame Street when I was a child. RIP (1928-2014)

Mad respect for Drew Barrymore who although being estranged from her dad, who had a history of alcohol and drug abuse, moved him near her when he was diagnosed with cancer, took care of him and paid his medical bills until his death, a true testament to her character!

But look at her now. Drew Barrymore made some movie 🎥 performances & host her own show after her same name. Also I love "Drew's News!!!"
@ebonyedwards-ellis8165Күн бұрын
Yes, Drew is good for doing that but her father still exploited her. Let's not lose sight of that.
@livvyb3583Күн бұрын
@It was more her mom who exploited her not her dad which Drew said herself, her dad was just ‘unavailable’ because of his addictions for most of her childhood according to her which is not excusing him but a tribute to her for putting it aside and taking care of him when he was diagnosed with cancer.

Perhaps one of the worst instances is child actress Judith Barsi. She and her mother were regularly abused by her alcoholic father, and both were murdered by him before or when she was barely ten years old, before he took his own life.

Dave Navarro. When he was 15 years old, he lost his mother and aunt by his mother’s ex-boyfriend. Her death led him to a path of paranoia and drug addiction and it took 8 years for his mother’s ex to be caught when the case was featured on an episode of America’s Most Wanted.

I think it was also said that Demi Lovato had an eating disorder. I’m not exactly sure about that one though but I do know she had it rough.

Drew Barrymore is one of the best comeback from the darkness stories in Hollywood history. By all rights she should've been a statistic nearly 30 years ago. She battled her demons and won, and came out the other side a completely changed woman for the better. She comes across as one of the most real, humble, down to earth, sweet people in the industry.

Charles Dickson- his whole family was in a debtors prison when he was 12, but he was “old enough” to work so he was “allowed” to work in a factory 14 hours a day, 6 days a week. Marissa Harshikata (sp.) her mother was killed (some say decapitated) in a car accident, and meriska was in the back seat.

My mom was a nurse at a Toronto Hospital, and we saw Shania Twain in the hallway, after her parents got into the car accident, and got brought to this hospital. She told me what Shania looked like, before she was a famous star. Interesting story.

Im shocked river is not on this list obviously his brother watching him die is very traumatising but when it came to thr actual cult , river was not as lucky to have been a very young boy/baby at the time , also if your gonna talk about atrocities done by people , dont chalk it up to nust mistreatment because mistreatment is just so vague and those kids in the cult where physical mentally and sexually abused for years , dont talk about serious topics and chalk something up the mistreatment because everyone has been mistreated but not everyone has been through what river did .

I feel that way about a lot of Feldman's stories. I believe he had a horror story of a childhood but there is so much he says that contradicts his own stories. It's weird. Maybe his drug use has messed with his head I dont know but I truly think he is lying about quite a bit of it.
