Maybe society needs another kind of relationship definition, like "adopted companion" or something like that. There's nothing wrong with age differences in friendships, but it's the sex thing that makes people turn off. Then again, attraction and beauty are indeed in the eye of the beholder. Certainly a middle-aged woman (35-ish) can make a decision about her 85-y-o life companion without having been "groomed". That's just stupid. At what point does an adult take full responsibility for their own life decisions?

World changes so much people that people born 15 -20 years later literally live in different world. Why is it treated as normal or "fate" when a man dates someone 20 years his junior, but not when a woman does the same? Yes, lurking around until the one you want turns 18 is grooming; but, once that person is an adult, I don't see a problem with dating them. Over half of my boyfriends have been younger than myself. What is wrong with enjoying the company of someone who still has enthusiasm and curiosity about life? Older men always seem to want to play my boss or my dad. I am not interested in being controlled. I find it comical only because I was born in January of 64’ my HS & College BF was born in Oct 64’ and his Mom thought I was too old for him! He ended up marrying someone 12 years his senior and was closer in age to his Stepson (5 years difference) than his wife. I left him for a reason his Mother was horrible to me.. I didn’t want to have a child with him because of that and I really wanted children. I’m happy for him and I’m the one he came to with the age dilemma about her. I find it comical only because I was born in January of 64’ my HS & College BF was born in Oct 64’ and his Mom thought I was too old for him! He ended up marrying someone 12 years his senior and was closer in age to his Stepson (5 years difference) than his wife. I left him for a reason his Mother was horrible to me.. I didn’t want to have a child with him because of that and I really wanted children. I’m happy for him and I’m the one he came to with the age dilemma about her.
