She had the best character growth in show... Went from hopeless romantic, got married to rich man who has not great mother, quit her job, dealt with awful marriage and fertility issues, got divorced and proved women can get nice apparrment, met a guy, who might not be Disney prince but heck had a good heart and loved her for her, converted to Judaism, got married in beautiful wedding , had a baby and suffered a misscarage, was open to adopt a baby, which she did and took in a doggo, who helped her heal... When someone asks why she is my fave-- this is why...she proves you can come out as complete different person and not drop your crown

1. How was she a hopeless romantic when a) she spread as whimsically as the others, b) she only started out caring about looks, manners, and money, and c) she advocated playing by The Rules, which is as unromantic as you can get? 2. Miranda proved that women can get nice apartments before Charlotre even met Trey; WTF are you talking about? Also, who EVER doubted that?

@@christopherbrown5409 English is not my first language so I might not explain things correctly… She planned out her life(aren’t all girly girls being like when I grow up I will have beautiful husband and bebes and whole 9 yards… baby shower episode everyone ), she loved being in love , belived happily ever after basically… she wasn’t super perfect yes but she found a nice guy who legit loves her and helped her mature! Also, is it so wrong to have some rules and boundaries ( I’m not saying it’s super healthy but yeah some rules are necessary sometimes) lol 😂 ..and have manners (it’s nice to be important but it’s also nice to have manners) I know Miranda was first one who got a sweet apartment… it was inspiring and dope. In Charlotte Case I used apartment bc she went through divorce where monster in law treated her like turd during procedure and Charlotte nearly ended up with 0 but Trey was like nah give her house … she got good ending and nice apparent She has some hàters even she is fictional character who is 20+ years old 😳

She was personally my favourite out of the 4 women. She was smart, driven, optimistic, kind & honest. Was she flawed yes (who isn't). I liked how honest she was with Carrie & wasn't afraid to tell her the raw truth about the big affair. I also liked how She knew what she wanted & even though it wasn't the modern feminist ideal like Miranda has, she stood up for what she wanted! She emphasized that feminism is about choice & if your choice is more traditional that doesn't make you any less.

THANK YOU! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 I am SO sick of Charlotte getting shit on for so many years now. I’ve always identified with her (and weirdly, Samantha). Her loyalty to her friends, her commitment to her values, her beliefs that real love is possible and the refusal to be cynical, are all amazing qualities. She could be uptight but she was always a friend who you could count on to be generous and compassionate. She also had a lot of strength in tough times, like her crumbling marriage to Trey, blowing things up with Harry and almost losing him, her miscarriage, and infertility issues. She never felt sorry for herself, she always found a way through the problems eventually. If you have a person like that in your life, you’re lucky!

Out of all the girls who grew the most I always say it was Charlotte. She stuck to her dreams and her morals but managed to open up and become more free and to grow as a person. She never EVER SETTLED! She managed to be optimistic even in the worst times and stuck by her friends side. She was a genuinely good person. Lastly, i love the end of the series we see her get her happy ending even if it was different than what she (or we) thought it would be.

They all had their flaws, but the three women had redeeming qualities which made them great friends. Carrie was the weakest link. Also, there's a misconception that Charlotte was conservative. She's not. Sure, she's the only one that dated to get married, but she's not conservative at all. In fact, I would say the most prudish out of the four women is Carrie. This video is so long overdue. Characters like Charlotte are often overshadowed or severely misunderstood. In my opinion Charlotte was so necessary to the show because she is an genuine optimist that consistently sticks to her values. That’s why she gets the ending she deserves because she never settled or lowered her standards even when things didn’t look bright. As a friend she supported each of the girls consistently. You can count on her for encouragement, a baby sitter, baked goods, planning an event, a apology when she is wrong, and/or sometimes financial assistance too. I’ll always love Charlotte.

I would not be surprised if season two of AJLT would be mostly about Miranda and Carrie because of the actresses egos and influence on the plot. - most of what happened in AJLT was a mirror of what happened in real life on set.

*they left it out, but when Charlotte's brother Wesley got some TLC from Sam (after a years-long strike from his wife, Leslie)...i loved how Charlotte looked at Sam in a more appreciative light after he said: "That Samantha, you've got a great friend in HER". I loved that she began to recognize her worth after her and trey separated. She found love in Harry and he added to her worth Harry didn’t want her to change for him he took her as she was. She did all that changing for Trey to treat her right and with Harry she only had to be herself

I loved every character except Carrie (and Big). but in terms of casting, _everybody_ encapsulated their roles perfectly. Sarah Jessica Parker _IS_ Carrie - whether you dislike her character or not, but that's mainly on the writers giving her a sh*tty storyline later on

I loved this video! Actually, I had never originally watched the show, when it first came out. I wasnt "into" tv for a long time, and I was about 20 years older than they were portraying, so I thought there could be nothing for me to relate to...I was very wrong! I thought it was just about men and clothes, but that was window dressing..it was different, funny and groundbreaking. The first show on tv that concentrated on relationships between women. In the early 90s I had worked on a tv show for a couple of seasons in Los Angeles that had Sarah Jessica parker as one of the leads. She was not particularly noticeable at first to me, but sharp as a tack, and incredibly kind and sweet. At the time, she was dating Robert Downey jr. during his fight with addiction, and was completely focused on helping him, but still always made time to talk to everyone. When I finally watched her hit show out of curiosity, I thought she was stunning. Her clothes, makeup and hair had been transformed and she was just beautiful. That really caught me, because I saw how the right looks could transform a regular good looking person into a model of beauty. At that time, she was practically ignored because Deborah Farentino was considered to be the star. Deborah got the "good" clothes, best makeup artist, etc., and everyone else was on their own. A great example of how the movie industry works! The "stars" were pampered, listened to and coddled with the best, everyone else was considered not good or important enough to get a simple, "hello", unless the director felt like elevating some poor rube temporarily. When I was asked to do stand in for Farentino, tons of people who had walked by me without acknowledging me, ever, for a year, suddenly invited me to get together. Another good lesson! Sarah had been on stage in New York and knew how everything on stage and film worked, so she could ignore all the slights and concentrate on her work. She didn't waste time with rudeness or one up manship, which was a fantastic lesson for me as well. People were kind of dismissive of her because she was dating a "washed up actor" with a drug problem, and people were so rude about it, gossiping that she was probably doing drugs too, making a big mistake to be with him, etc., etc. (I wonder what they all think now!). She was probably the nicest person I met during those years...(finally seeing Sex in the City also inspired me to try and completely revamp my own look, since I had no look!), although the show I worked on was a total flop (cancelled after 2 seasons, should have been put out of its misery after one episode) I got more out of it than any other job I ever had, and I did tons of ridiculous junk. I have always been so happy she became the star of a big hit, she completely deserved her stardom, she really worked hard, was a great person and more talented than practically anyone else I met then. I hope she is happy and I wish I could thank her for all her many kindnesses, she was pure gold.

Gotta love all the "Carrie haters" in the comments. Darren Star should be proud. That was his intent on her character. To have the main character imperfect. And a bit of the villain. She was the most realistic. Gotta love all the perfect ppl in the comments that have never made a mistake

Charlotte is so funny. I love the scene where the four friends are over at charlotte’s apartment for dinner when Trey starts telling the group that the card board baby was supposed to be funny; then charlotte tells Trey “how about I bring a card board cutout of a flaccid penis” in her high pitched whiny voice. I lmao every time😆😆😆

My favourite Charlotte moment is when she humanises Natasha to Carrie. Carrie acts like her affair with Big is completely justified due to Natasha being boring and simple. Carrie stalks her, is really horrible about her behind her back. So when Charlotte calls Carrie out for being “the other woman” and that “she should feel bad” she shows the extent of her morals by going against her friend.
