@Christopher Bingham she is more well known than both, especially James Earl Jones was used as the voice only then when he exposed he was the father he was magically white. Millions of men drooling over the Princess in her gold bikini and her iconic hair are more memorable than Luke’s May the force be with you. He was cute enough, but Han Solo as played by Harrison Ford was hot. Even as a teenage girl when the first movie came out, that was my gut reaction.

I vividly remember Michelle Obama's appearing on _iCarly,_ as well as another favorite kids sitcom at the time, _Jessie._ I eas so cool and surreal seeing the first lady on some of my favorite programs just being a regular persons. @@bohemiansun3172 I grew up watching & listening to Barbra Streisand so imagine my surprise when she stated she had always suffered from stage fright. Now add to that her concert in Central Park, in 1969, where she forgot the lyrics to her songs. That is what caused her to become a virtual hermit. I was totally stunned when Ms. Streisand made an appearance on SNL in a "Coffee Talk" skit. Her appearance was mouth-dropping on so many levels.

One reason that Prince episode was the most-watched from New Girl's run was because it aired in the coveted post Super Bowl slot. Shows and networks hope that the large numbers of Super Bowl viewers will stick around, and air a special episode of one of their popular shows, or the premiere of a brand new one immediately after the Super Bowl program ends. And the lead-in from the Super Bowl is valuable.

Most of these aren't cameos by defintion. It's not the sane as character arcs or guest star appearances. A cameo is usually someone who appears in just one scene. The Robin Williams and Billy Crystal scene from Friends is a perfect example of that, and the first one I thought of.

It wouldn't have mattered when it aired. People would have watched. FCOL, when Prince died; people around the world were wearing "PURPLE" in tribute and mourning. He didn't REQUIRE the post-superbowl spot. The show just had clever marketing people who knew what it would mean to capitalize on rare opportunity.

You know there was a made-for-TV movie in the 90s about a girl with a terminal (or at least potentially so) illness who wants to use her Make-A-Wish to see the Oval Office and meet President Clinton (who in 1993 signed into law the FMLA)...though the MAW crew isn't so sure they can do this they do somehow are able to get her to see the Oval Office and sure enough...the big guy himself meets her in the movie! Were there any other world leaders (current or former; Reagan and Trump obviously did before entering politics but that doesn't count) who made cameo appearances in movies/TV shows? As for First Ladies, let's see, this video shows Michelle Obama, the intro to Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue has Barbara Bush with George in the intro, Nancy Reagan was on a Dif'rent Strokes episode...any others who appeared on TV/movie?

Most of these examples are NOT CAMEOS!!! They are GUEST SPOTS!! Cameos are brief and surpising and have little influence on the plot. A guest spot is when a well known actor comes for an episode (or multiple episodes) for a temporary role on the show. For example, Bruce Willis had a guest spot on Friends, NOT a cameo. Billy Crystal and Robin Williams had cameos. Got it?
