🔵 Title: MSNBC Investigates: Night Court
🔵 Summary: If day court is like Jeopardy, night court is like Wheel of Fortune. Part game show. Part soap opera. All legal and binding. MSNBC takes a look at justice after dark, in a city on the rise with more people, money, and crime.
For many the courtroom brings to mind big cases like the OJ Simpson murder trial. But if you find yourself facing the bench, chances are you'll see a different side of the justice system. Traffic violations, petty crimes, and misdemeanors fill the calendars of most courtrooms, and very often, for convenience, these cases are heard at night. This episode of MSNBC Investigates explores the mechanics of Night Court through the eyes of the defendants and court officers of Seattle. It's a system designed for efficiency. Almost all agree that it’s quick, but is it fair? Some people get “trapped” in the system. Others use the names of friends when they get arrested. This episode also touches on homeless youth, and confrontations that leave youngsters with battle scars.
Starring: Judge Michael S. Hurtado, Michael Lacher, Virginia Stewart, Lynn Reilly, James Burnell, Richard Warner, Laurel Gibson, Donald Doble, Jeanne Todd, Michelle Thompson, Jessica McMillan, Eric Michl, Charles Howe, William Adams, Girum Seifu, David Butler, John Seigenthaler, LaVelle LaRue
Directed by: John Cirabisi
Produced by: Steve Rosenbaum
Editor: Marc Senter
🔵 Rating: TV-MA

You need to stop mainlining right wing propaganda. Crime is down all over the country or world for that matter. We've had a 49% reduction in crime since 1993. The difference between now and then is that we smart phones, social media and body cams so get to see everything that happening.

This Judges Story tells something that he doesn’t say here, and that he would deny. Him not retaliating on the guy that stabbed him and the other people ostracizing him because of it caused him to become a judge so he could punish anyone he sees reminds him of those types of kids. Self admittedly he was bullied into the library. I feel that this conflict of interest would make him biased and unfit to rule the court. Anyone that seems to him as a “tuff guy” he’s gonna throw to the wolves to get back at those kids that bullied him. He is mentally scared, biased as a result, and should not be a judge. This alone and not even the sexual nature of the inappropriate interactions I’ve seen in the court thus far should be enough to disbar him. There is also the fact that he admittedly is friends with convicts he sees regularly. So anyone that seems nerdy or can’t fight to defend themselves he’s gonna let off and anyone that looks like they might be strong, angry, or confident is gonna get the max. It’s not right. It’s not fair. It’s not impartial. It’s not how it should be.

Typically it's not. There are some cases where officers or prosecutors choose not to pursue the initial charge and will just charge the resisting. Keep in mind as well if you resist detainment during an investigation, you can be convicted of resisting arrest.
