We moved to awarding prizing in store credit. It means the players can exchange the credit with each other for trades, can save up for events, or purchase singles instead of trying to get the goodies they want in packs.

Given the cost of living increase we've experienced in Canada... Bread has gone from $0.99/loaf to $2.99+ per loaf... I'm really surprised that FaB prices haven't gone up more. But LSS is also a game designed for gamers by gamers, so I appreciate them keeping the prices as low as they have.

Alot of places have dropped it 401 and face to face to name a few

Indeed. Eggs have been the big sign-post this year in the US at least.

@@tysnow9524 I don't know 401's story, but I know that F2F screwed up. That's why they don't carry it.

I believe the impact will hit players harder in the singles markets as the cost floor rises due to new product UPP(previously MAP). The caveat being, as long as the product is good. However, I don't think most players will feel or see that impact. I agree where players will feel it is at the LGS.

Higher entry fees = less armories. Which means the ones that don't offer weekly CC are gonna be the first to cross off my list. I quit playing for multiple years once cause I couldn't afford to play, hopefully I'm not forced to do so again.

Stores in my area (NYC) have increased the entry for the prerelease already. It used to be 35-40, now 40 - 60, most being 45-50. One of my friends i was trying to get into the game, he decided not when he heard the prerelease was more expensive than an MTG prerelease (still mostly 40). He told me at price he gets more value from a game on steam.

MtG pre releases don't you get less packs?
@slxКүн бұрын
@@StingrayP226 last year fab prerelease were 8 packs for prereleases at 35-40 in nyc. Now its higher. You are missing the point that a higher entry fee prevents people from getting into the game. I mentioned magic because prereleases for magic are still mostly 40 even after 10 years.

@@BrotherRobb Stores in my country also have prereleases at the price of around 45+ USD How exactly is that a store problem when that has become the norm of the price for entry in a prerelease?

Our LGS is amazing. $5 entry and two packs per win at our armory. They aren't raising prices because we spend so much with them they find it an investment to take a loss on prizing.

On just opening packs, i've bought only at discount, a case would total to 350 at most. I'm not sure it makes any sense to be paying msrp right since this is still not anywhere near MTG. MTG had to dramatically change their value perception with collector boxes to be able to extract this much value. Yes, i am comparing a fab case to a mtg collector box because this is where you get a real shot at getting a lottery card. This is going to impact the singles market, you need someone to open in bulk to have singles be affordable. A customer that opens bulk is paying a 10% premium which should mean all singles are also increased by 10%. But if the customer doesn't buy to open, then singles go up even more. Do stores become resellers of singles?
@DiceCommandoКүн бұрын
Regardless of if you're paying MSRP, or at some % discount, the fact is that the base cost has gone up. So regardless of the baseline you're using, the fact is that the equation changes for events (which impacts LGS, etc.). Which is the point of this video.
@jiffyb333Күн бұрын
Man this stinks, not blaming LSS everything is getting more expensive and this is a symptom of that. At least with the inclusion of GEM packs the prising will feel more generous in a different way as packs get reduced.
@jonmull5815Күн бұрын
My purchase habits won’t change. I play pre-release and buy singles. If I win a prize pack I buy another to support the store a bit further. I stopped buying boxes at DTD.
