I grew up Catholic, now 28. Was completely agnostic for about 20 years. Now I'm dipping toes in, and it's still the *only* denomination I could see myself following, but I think I'd probably refer to myself as a "New American Catholic." I still take the Eucharist and most importantly in regards to Catholicism-- venerate the Virgin Mary, but I don't believe the Pope has a direct line of communication w/ God. I just think he's there to basically uphold traditions and define cannon. Which actually can be important otherwise you end up w/ Romans worshipping Isis, and Baptists playing electric guitars.

To Matt’s point about saying how you really feel at work- I worked at a factory during the night shift for a few weeks and there were only like 10 people in the building. I saw the 3 am version of everyone and no one held back about how much they hated it and they told me to get out asap.
