She honest hardworking very very social and a mama bear that will stop at no lengths to make sure her kids r happy healthy and safe. I really believe she's the Best cartoon mom she's not to pushy not abusive not self centered for in a horrible marriage just bc why not. Like she actually trys and loves her life they way it is. The one issue I’ve had is how they only focus on bobs dreams. Linda wanted to do the musical dinner theater and bob didn’t want to support it but all of his dreams are. When he wanted that ridiculous riverbrooks farms turkey the whole family was willing to support it, and that goes for everything he wants but the hasn’t been the same for Linda or anyone else in bobs life including teddy. I love the show so much and the family that has just bothered me a little about the dynamic.

I know this is very late to the game, but I needed to mention somethin bout the relationship between Bob and his Dad. and thats the fact that Bob never once tries to deter the kids from him. He realizes he doesnt have the best relationship with his father, and its totally fair that he wants to keep that direct interaction to the barest of minimum. But he never ever once tries to get his kids on his side for it. Lmao, its a huge contrast to how he reacts to Lyndas parents; teasing with the kids and taking part on the grandma hate.

I love the trust between the two of them. Bob going on a damn soliloquy about Marshmallow, and Linda's entire response: "WE GET IT. You love Marshmallow!" No jealousy, no real anger, just a desire to get back to her original point because she knows he'll go on forever if she doesn't cut him off.

Absolutely! Even the seaplane episode, it wasn't that bob was jealous, it's that Kurt had ulterior motives and Linda could have been hurt

Bobs probably one of the most feminist men on TV. And the lack of a male supremacist additude and the accompanying assumptions of feminine as a synonym for demeaning or insulting is extremely attractive and refreshing. Like even the little things like him considering being compared to a little old British lady as a compliment when he got his garden, is still an extremely rare trait to see in men in media. I feel many underestimate just how unattractive and upsetting it can be to have partners treat your whole sex and gender as something embarrassing and demeaning. Like this anti feminine undercurrent can often give an atmosphere of a constant, oppressive bullying throughout an entire hetero relationship. Basically like tolkenisim, where everyone of your group is considered bad, but you're "one of the good ones". Like imagine spending your relationship with the supposed love of your life, being told that all women are embarrassing and pathetic and stupid, but you're the exception. Not the exception of NOT being such a profound embarrassment who's so disgusting that even holding your purse for a minute might as well be like holding a bag full of poop, but in having enough good qualities to offset the disgust that you're worth keeping around in spite of being a feminine woman. Like the lack of this disresepect is often a big part of why gay men are so attractive to women. Because they have an unapologetic respect for femininity that typical cis men lack. And Bob is not only bi, but apparently grew up next door too a gay bar for a good part of his life. Femininity in men is probably something he accepted as normal in a way many other men never had the opportunity too. Like Bob is genuinely a catch, even among some if the stereotypically kindest fathers in fiction, because Bob isn't a misogynist. And with Bob, *for once* (outside of maybe the Addams family) the narrative around a father does not make excuses for misogyny, or try to pass it off as an important part of responsible fatherhood to be idolized. And does not build feelgood narratives about fathers passing it on to their sons and using it to neglect their daughters.

Linda can be prone to going too far but, like Bob, she’s ride or die to the end. That’s what makes her such a great wife/mother and is part why I think she and Bob complement each other so well. Like you pointed out, they provide a balance to each other that just makes them a harmonious whole.

The thing about Bob’s dad is that he knows that he was not the best father to Bob. He is a man who lost his wife when his son was very young, he probably didn’t have another role model and he spent the years his son’s life where Lilly was alive providing and never being active in child rearing like an old school dad, however he sees his grandkids as a way to kind of right those wrongs. He sees loving his grandkids unconditionally as an extension of how much he does truly love his son. I also think he sees how wonderful Bob is as a dad and feels a degree of shame and regret in regards to how he raised bob on his own. Big bob never puts down Linda or the children and he never puts bob down in front of his family because he knows that his son is a hero to his family. The index of characters in this show are sympathetic for the most part because they are complex and real

I fell behind on Bob's Burgers, but I did notice how Linda bends over backwards for her family even though they're not worth it. Like when she offered to let her parents live with them even though the Belchers can barely support themselves. Or how she tiptoes constantly around Gayle and it just hit me: In Dr. Yap, she blamed BOB for Gayle's actions not because of "the unfair sex" where it's always the man's fault, but because she didn't want to blame GAYLE. She's used to coddling her sister to the point where blaming her for her own actions is unthinkable.

I loved both of these videos! Great work! Linda and Bob are perfect for each other. I like how you focused on how their parenting styles complement each other, too. One of my favorite things about the show is them as parents. They never shame Tina for her burgeoning sexuality or her writing "erotic" fan fiction. They never force Gene into the box of what society thinks is acceptable for little boys to be interested in. Bob and Linda fully support Gene, even if society would mock him. Gene is an enby icon. I don't know if the creators intended that, but Gene absolutely is. There are queer and trans readings of Gene as a character, and I think they're totally valid. And Linda and Bob let Louise be a secretly sweet chaos gremlin, but remind her not to take things too far. Bob literally listened to the toy shop owner read all of Louise's favorite book series that Kuchicopi came from. He even tells her he enjoyed them.
@brainstorm9560 Жыл бұрын
Tiny correction; Vanessa the cult member is Bob's biological cousin. From what I can gather, Linda has four cousins that we know of. Marie who's good at folding paper airplanes (Live & Let Fly), Valerie who only has one arm (Dream a Little Bob of Bob), Jerry who recently got married (Legends of the Mall) and poor Ronnie who lived in an apartment in New York (Loft in Bedslation). Linda & Gayle also has at least one second cousin, Donnie (Have Yourself a Maily Linda Christmas).

This is incredible. I love how you do an in depth character analysis to explain why Linda fell for bob. Lind's family dynamic is always something I wished more people talked about because I can relate sm to it. Being the peace keeper and having your family rely on you sm. And that lead me to being a chronic people pleaser that was terrified of conflict. The only difference is it made me grow to resent my family where as to Linda who has this unending amount of love for hers. So that why in the air port episode where Bob was angry on Linda's behalf because of how bad they always treated her, I almost cried(even tho it was one of the funniest episodes). It really felt like out of everyone(not including the kids of course), the one who cared for and really cherished her was Bob. That episode really opened my eyes to a big factor on why she fell for him in the first place. I don't know if Linda even knows it but the love she receives from Bob is something she has been lacking from the rest of her family her whole life. Where he appreciates her, they take her for granted.

It’s important to remember that as much as we love Bob’s Burgers and wish we could be part of the Belcher family, ultimately it is just a fictional animated show. The Belchers are not without their struggles and trauma either. Yes they have love and warmth in their family, but few people would be able to maintain this family structure with the constant loom of potentially going out of business and being jobless/homeless.

Bob and Linda met, locked eyes, and realized they found the one person they'd prefer to be with over being alone, and are determined to maximize that feeling every day. Like they're not going to waste any time with mistrust, because they trust the other to keep them safe. Honestly I think my favorite linda+bob moment is at the end of the Blinkening Christmas special and she's high on something and then crashes, he makes sure she's safe, and also lets her ride out the chaos of what's happened. And maybe that's just projection, because that's how I feel with my husband. I feel safe enough to be a weirdo, knowing that he'll only stop me if it's unsafe, and simultaneously knowing he will stop me if it becomes unsafe. It's really helped me figure out how I actually feel about a lot of things, gave me the space I needed to grow as a person and overcome some pretty harmful coping mechanisms. It's really freaking neat.

They are so grounded and well developed! You want to cheer for them as they cheer for each other. Even while they're driving each other nuts as families do lol, there's so much love there. Linda HATERS?? How??? 😭 Bob and Linda are not only the best representation of a couple in modern television because of all the reasons you said… they’re the most realistic. Part of the reason I love this show is because it reminds me of my own relationship. Average people with their own eccentricities, who make up for what the other person in the relationship lacks. Not perfect parents, but trying their best because they genuinely love their kids as individuals and want the best for them. My partner and I have been together for 12 years, and I’m a few months away from turning 30. If I exclude the years that I wasn’t a sentient human being, I’ve spent more of my life with him than without him. We’ve developed a level of honesty within our communication that is almost absurd. I love seeing this represented in Bob and Linda’s relationship. It’s the reason good relationships last. Bob and Linda don’t have a perfect life, but their open communication keeps their friendship and romance alive. Whenever they are at odds, they eventually talk it out and emerge with newfound closeness and empathy for each other. I love when writing models for the general public what makes connection successful, just by showing a realistic and positive relationship.

I hate him so much because he often causes so much trouble And can I say that sometimes I wish Bob would give what people deserves. Like Gyro. That man was a ordeal and a rude man, that did took advantage of Bob. I wish he had sued him for all that money

I don't know if you watch American Dad, but if you do I'd love one of these on Stan and Francine. Because I feel like their relationship is unique compared to other animated couples. Because I'd argue both of them fit the idiot (sometimes malicious) partner role that we usually see in animated couples. Despite that, they're more loving than Peter and Lois but not as quite as good together as Bob and Linda. I feel like their level of terribleness/selfishness matches the other so it stops it from feeling unbalanced along with the fact that they always choose one another in the end. Great video

36:10 what episode is this you're describing? Linda paying to get Gene a place in a play? Love this channel. Best discovery I've made all year. Kenya's biggest Bob's Burgers superfan.

That episode was called "All That Gene" and it was S10 ep9. And thank you 💛 I appreciate it!

@@TersTrippyTV thank you! So I've got all 14 seasons available offline, Hulu isn't available in my region yet, and turns out, whoever downloaded my season 10 has ep8 repeated TWICE. So that's why I have never seen the original episode. Were it not for this channel, I don't know if I'd ever notice that. Thank you!

Bob refuses to let Linda's fire die. It almost went out in the movie, but Bob did not relent.

I’ve never related to a character more than Linda. My partner always makes fun of me for it. He walks into me making up silly songs about everything and tucking bugs into the miniature beds I made. I walk into him talking to his food, plants, and kitchen utensils. And we both love a good glass(bottle) of wine. Only difference is he’s a baker, not a burger boy. Can certainly man a grill though.

These vids have made me realize that literally almost every major adult recurring character aside from Bob and Linda is miserably alone. Only major exceptions are Harold and Edith, Al and Gloria, and Teddy got out of that category with Kathleen

So, in a trite phrase: In a "glass half full/half empty" world, Bob and Linda are a full glass to each other.;) I suspect that those who find "Bob's Burgers" flat/boring/nothing just love Fox TV's "Krapopolis."

You should put the top arguments Bob and Linda had(in general)a lot of Bob and Pesto and some great Bob and Teddy, but the top two to me is the Espresso machine argument, and when Linda got mad and while being yelled at Bob pleaded with the kids to stay(mannequin episode I think) but

It may also be like with my grandparents. I grew up with both of my paternal grandparents, so I refer to them as "Grandma" & "Grandpa." My maternal grandfather died before even my parents met, so it seemed natural to distinguish my maternal grandma from Grandma, and I ended up calling her, "Memaw." Quite fitting, actually, as she was Southern, and, as I found out later, maternal grandmas are frequently called, a variation of "Memaw" in the South, more than paternal grandmas.

The couch episode is the most frustrating episode of the whole show. I find it infuriating they get the old couch back just because Louise has a change of heart. This gives off hoarder vibes & coming from a household that hordes this was triggering.

I dont see Teddy as inconvenient at all. I was surprised with your perspective of Teddy being draining. Its an interesting perspective. (Also i love your videos)

I love Teddy as a viewer. He's actually one of my favorite characters. But when I make these videos I try to see things from the characters pov. So yeah in universe he can be draining to be around especially to Bob. Mostly when he's doing something inconvenient or asking for inconvenient favors. I think when I make a video about Teddy, I can explain it better and give examples of what I mean. I love him tho regardless lol. Also thank you! I work hard on these and I'm glad people enjoy them. I'm a small channel so these videos are for fun mostly.

Oh you do an amazing job!!!! NO ONE analyzes like you do. I absolutely love and appreciate all the hard work you put in these. I see what your saying about teddy, this is through Bobs and Linda's view. I cannot wait for the Teddy video he is one of my faves like a big teddy bear
