If gun control laws worked, Detroit would be one of the safest cities in America.

Is it illegal to hurt people? It is it illegal to use a gun in a crime? So why do you think banning honest law abiding citizens for being able to protect yourself makes you safer? That's lunacy.
@stantonroyce93779 ай бұрын
What is a criminal? Someone who doesn't obey laws. Your only safety is in your ability to protect yourself and that includes carrying weapons of some sort including firearms.

But those wide eyed young students feel so good that they are "making a difference". Their Marxist profs are telling them that they are being good revolutionaries.

If these people would just stop and think of a solution that doesn’t impede anyone else’s ability to protect themselves then maybe an honest discussion could be had. Chicago couldn’t have any more laws against guns and look how that’s working out.

Guns are not violent, criminals are! Or, are cars gonna be blamed for drunk driving deaths?

Yeah I understand y’all are really upset about the shooting. But you lost me when you thought the solution was to make people that obey laws give up rights. How about hiring some armed security. Or getting trained to use a firearm yourself. This way you can be your own first responder. If you haven’t noticed, the police are not good at protecting you. I mean, a cop wasn’t able to prevent this. The government wasn’t able to protect you. Some people are bad. Some want to kill other people. Evil exists. We have done nothing but gun control for decades and it’s done nothing. Why? Criminals don’t follow the law. You act like guns are some hyper sophisticated piece of technology that can only be produced by arms manufacturers. Nah. People in China get there back blow up by pipe shotguns all the time. Or other illegals weapons. Take advantage of your right to bear arms and arm yourself to protect yourself and the people you love. Just the shear presence of guns in an any environment is usually enough to stop these things from happening. Also. A little hyperbolic in saying we are on the side of the murderer. That is disgusting and vile language meant to put people into boxes based on your own opinion. Disgusting. If you want to have an honest conversation about this issue. Quit acting like children.

You can pass all the laws you want to at the state and local level, but the only people who will be affected are people who intend on complying with the law. There are more documented guns in civilian hands in America than there are people, and that doesn't include the so-called "ghost guns" that have been rapidly proliferating over the past 5-6 years. If someone in America wants a gun and doesn't care about obeying the law, they're gonna be able to get one. At this point, the only effective solution is to empower the law-abiding with the ability to effectively defend themselves, and make government subsidized programs available to teach people about the safe and effective use of firearms. The only way to actually reduce the access that Americans have to guns is to pass laws at the federal level that restrict access to guns along with a massive confiscation program to reduce the supply of already available guns, which ain't gonna happen.

The perpetrator was arrested 3 years ago for illegally carrying a firearm, the judge let him plead down to a lesser charge if the law would have been enforced he still would have been in jail and this shooting wouldn't have happened. Don't demand more gun laws when you won't enforce the ones we have.

They imagine a world where cars are made of foam and whenever they get into accidents they just squeak like a dog toy and bounce off. HEAVENS NO!!! NOT A GUN!!! We can’t have that!!! Too dangerous and scary. I have an idea. Let’s take them away from everyone and only have the government have them. Then we will be safe. Because the government always does their job well and always acts in the interest of Americans. The cops show up in seconds when you call. And then chase the bad guy with what…. A stick? A taser? Nope. A gun. Either way. At the end of the day. It’s gunna be a gun.
