Service and maintenance are suppose to be done, servicing your bike early is not going to save you from any real problems compared to servicing your bike at the routine schedule. Based on what you said worst case scenario he hasn’t done any maintenance and if that was the case it strengthens the OPs claim. I think we can draw some conclusions based on these videos and using other data that these MTs can take a beating.
