How come nobody does BOTH the top and under the handle bar steering stabilizer? Wouldn’t it make the bike more stable at high speeds and reduce wobble to nearly zero?

Hey so i see this universal FXCNC steering damper on eBay for around 90 bucks which beats 500-600+ and i want to buy it for my 2012 r6 but i was wondering if you’d think that’s a good idea. How’s yours holding up?

Honestly man mines been holding up just fine after about 6 months…the only issue I had is the set screws for the stem backing out from vibration (not structurally critical, but allows a little play when they loosen up) …I used thread locker but they still work themselves free over time (keep in mind the CP3 in the FZ09 vibrates a little more than an in-line 4 cyl)…I went to the hardware store and bought some different tiny bolts to put in there instead. As for the unit itself I’ve had 0 issues…it does get a little stiffer in the colder season but I just back off the adjustment as needed. Unfortunately with Chinese stuff the quality control is hit or miss but I seemed to have gotten a good unit and for the price I’d say it’s worth a try 🤷🏼‍♂️

I might just go for it then since you’ve no real mechanical issues with it and hope for the best because i feel like 500-600 bucks is ridiculous. I have a lot of other content to look through regarding how to stuff with bikes …I will eventually be starting another channel strictly dedicated to motorcycle shit so stay tuned. Again if you buy this type of stabilizer just use different bolts instead of the tiny little set screws and make sure you use thread locker on EVERYTHING. Other than that if you get a good unit it should last for a while 👍 good luck and thanks again for the positive feedback

@@michaelhassell9316 also man if you’re trying to fix a speed wobble issue make damn sure both your front and rear axles are properly aligned, that your fork oil level is correct in both forks, that your fork height is properly set for someone your height (many people lower the front ride height to help reach the ground…this makes bikes turn easier but less stable at high speed) that there’s no uneven wear of your tires, wheel bearings are good and your steering stem bearing doesn’t have hard spots

I had thought about that but with image stabilization and the quality of most cameras i decided there wouldn’t be a way to accurately show it working….I’ve had mine for a year now with 0 issues

They may not make a bracket for your bike 🤷🏼‍♂️…this one is for the FZ09 Yamaha

will it stop my puig windscreen from going on? the windscreen covers my display

It probably will if it already covers the stock display…the stabilizer kit comes with a bracket that relocates the display cluster further up and to the right so it can clear the dampening unit once mounted.
