Your brave no pickets my dad has climbed that mountain countless times sometimes 3 times in week and he always uses pickets

I still stand by my original comment. I would not personally stand below unroped climbers, tightly packed each with a unsecured ice axe in one hand and a ski pole in another. If it was the least bit icy I'd use a rope and protection with a trusted partner.

Would a second ice tool be handy as an accessory to my ice axe?? I'm thinking about getting one for this climb eventually!

Yes 2 ice axes recommended for this.

@@MattCookOregon possibly yes! I don't know if I'm experienced enough yet, but I wanna do north sister and hood in 2021. They're just kind of daunting, at least north is

@@stefancogurik166 Nice! Yeah they are intense. I actually did a good video guide here on safely doing North Sister if interested. Haven't done a Hood video yet. I say go with someone that has done it before first.

Too adventurous for me. I prefer to climb mountains that only require gloves, leather boots, trekking poles, snake armor, and perhaps some wrist guards, knee pads, and elbow pads for the way back down. Bear spray too. Glad I never ran across a mountain lion, but I did smell cat piss more than a couple of times and I heard someone saw a mountain lion eating a deer on my favorite trail. Really glad I was not there that day. Kudos on your successful climbs, and safe travels.

Great video, but a lot of questionable climbing techniques.

Im looking at a guide book and it looks like there's Pearly Gates left and right. Which is this and why did you choose it? When did the ski descent begin? Planning on climbing this or Cooper spur in a month or so.

Looks like this comment was quite some time ago, so I'm sure you've already figured it out. But, there are two routes to the summit when looking up from the crater. To the right is Pearly Gates, which is typically the standard route up. To the left is the Old Chute. Both are pretty similar, and it really just depends on the time of season/conditions regarding when to do one or the other. There is a very large bergchrund directly underneath the Pearly Gates, which opens up quite large late in the season, which makes the PG more dangerous. I have done both, and I don't really have a preference.
