Re the GoPro mount - Its a chest mount - the straps have to be very tight on it and I find its best to wear it high with the shoulder straps as short as possible - the problem is the base plate design the puts the camera about centre line of the waist strap so the camera can pivot causing the lens to go up and down as it bounces - it relies in the shoulder straps being tight enough to hold it but they are elastic which just makes it worse - I designed a base plate that might solve this but am yet to put it to the test - too busy skiing.

tips to make shaking go away: 1. fasten helmet harder to your skull, so that it won't bump up and down 2. use the go pro loop that came with the cam, so that the cam is more fastened to the mount

50 eh? Here in the Alps you get a small discount at 64 and a larger discount at 80... Nice to see how many take advantage of that. Nice to see you flying the flag for seniors though. Are you using any kind of stablisation software? I think the gopro has gyro but the software also makes a significant difference. I dont like being attached to something I might fall on. Took a tumble on a full size DSLR a while back and nearly cracked a rib. The camera was not even scratched. It would be good to see how a mount with damped gimbals would perform ( or even a full gyro ). The issue of course is that the damping strength depends on skiing style, height of camera and condition of terrain. On steep narrow slopes I will do a lot of turning which can be quite violent while broad slopes hardly need damping. Would be nice to see if you can produce a better solution. Get a patent in place before sharing. I sure not the only person that wants to see your work.

We get seniors discounts here too after 60 and free lifts at 70, father skied till 86 to get the full value. I've improved the GoPro chesty mount a fair bit last 2 seasons by simply attaching a flat bit of plastic to the lower half of it so stop it pivoting about the axis of centre strap which is the problem with the chesty, no support under the chest strap line only relies on top strap to stop the bounce so adding some helps a lot. Just zip tied on some acrylic to extend it. (see my Falls Creek vid it looks a bit smoother) Cheers.
