Joseph Landeros or they don’t want people to know how to get to the secret room - there is a long staircase behind Lincoln’s head that is somewhat accessible from the Presidential Trail. In the news today Someone climbed on Washington’s head and fell 50 feet to the base - was fined $1,500 and $30 processing fee.

Well this was filmed several years ago. It is now illegal to fly around the monument. However, what you are actually referring to I believe is the "hall of records". It isn't anything more than an opening that goes some distance into the back of the monument. It shouldn't be hard to find what you are referring to if you will google "hall of records Mt. Rushmore". Also, you can view that entrance fairly well through google earth if you have that.

Hey Nolan, it is now. I go to Sturgis every year for the motorcycle rally and filmed this the August before they banned it. I wanted to get closer and was going to come back on another day that trip, but I decided I would just wait till the following year. Unfortunately they put the ban in place and I didn't get to go closer. It was still fun though.

There is a Corvette rally in the Black Hills each year. I'm thinking it is around either Memorial, Labor Day, or July 4th, but I don't remember for sure. If you want to find out for sure, the best way maybe to contact either the City of Sturgis, or the Spearfish Chamber of Commerce.
