Mt Tibrogargan Pt3. (Full Descent)

So you made it to the top and now you wanna get down! Excellent choice!!!
This video shows it from top to bottom, right where the climb starts, no cuts!! So you can see what to expect. Including the chance to chat to some awesome folk you'll meet on the rock.
The good news is, it's not as scary as you think it is. I'm not that great with heights and i was able to manage it. If you're scared of heights, go with a supportive group, keep the conversation going, wear good grippy shoes, take it slow and you'll be fine. Try to avert your gaze from the distant downward slope and just focus on a few metres in front of you, and keep your head in the moment, take it one step at a time. The GoPro superview is an amazing setting but it does tend to make the video look scarier than it is.
However if you have vertigo or anxiety problems, you might wanna sit this one out. Your knees and quads will also take a clobbering so keep that in mind as well.
You can knock this one out in a couple of hours easy if you're fit and have a head for heights. Although not as sketchy as Mt Beerwah, it still has it's sketchiness nonetheless. Pack light and take water and a few snacks.

No worries Maria. Just take it nice and slow and you'll be fine. Going with a group of experienced folk will help. I'm not particularly good with heights at all so I find distracting myself with conversation helps a fair bit. And just look directly in front of you, don't focus on the height and the steepness. The thing is too, that the Gopro makes it look scarier than it is as well. You'll be up and down before you know it! Let us know how you go 😎

Thanks so much. Yea, I've got some girlfriends all ready to go...but from hindsight, the numbers fall away closer to the time. Hopefully I'll still have one or two by morning haha! All first time climbers this route. Ill take footage and share sometime. Have a great festive!

@@wilddonkeyadventures happy new year Summit Excalibur! I attempted twice. . The first time, all extras bailed on me so I went alone and ended up heart thumping at the base if the first cliff (chicken zone). The following week it rained but still attempted with two brave soles and ended up climbing chicken zone cliff with one of them. We were all alone at 5:15am...and slippery rocks and no guidelines...so we posed for the best pica and went back down haha! I am afraid my 2021 years resolution has been shattered. I need to climb with someone who has done it before AND has courage to bring me along!

So far I have just gone up most of the vertical section of chicken rock up did not go further as was not sure about getting back down alone.

@@stocktradingmastery ​ The first song is called "A Sonic Boom" By Tomas Skyldeberg. Honestly i didn't even know i had done chicken rock until i was about 2/3 of the way up the mountain. I asked my mate when we were getting to chicken rock and he said we passed it ages ago. LoL. I was expecting it to be way scarier and made it a big thing in my head. I found the climb up to be quite cruisey. There was one section at Chicken Rock that i was a bit cautious about on the way down but nothing too major. I do have another video showing the climb. It was my first time up Tibro. This one here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j16sgqRqaN6fbqs&ab_channel=WildDonkey The key is to take it one section at a time and nice and steady. There's a few spots on the way up where you can stop and take 5 if you need. Just concentrate on the rock and your placements, don't think about the height. Grippy shoes also make the trip so much better and really boost the confidence. Also look ahead for wear on the rocks, and try and stick to seams. You'll be able to see where people had gone before. And probably a good idea to hook up with a hiking group and go with a few others. Having a team there with a couple of experienced hikers to guide you will really make it easier as well.
