In this video I show you how to remove your standard Yamaha MT09 exhaust system. How to install a full Termignoni exhaust, including how to produce flames from your otherwise standard MT09.

I have a 2021 mt09, kinda sucks that there isnt alot of exhaust options yet for it. probably going for dominator exhaust in the spring tho

I also have a round stopper on the inside, so I removed it, but I can't because the hexagonal bolts are fastened diagonally. Can you tell me how?It was written with a translator, so please understand if the grammar is not correct.

Hey I bought a 16` MT09 that was already fit with a Termignoni exhaust, I really loved the sound but over time I noticed more and more that the exahaust hiccups (I guess like in your videos they are called blips). Now that I read in another video that this means that the bike runs leaner that normal. Now Im thinking about putting back the original exhaust (got it with the sale of the bike). What are your thoughts on that? Did you tune your bike to that exhaust? Thanks for sharing the video. Really amazing Bike, I ride it almost everyday and Im so happy I bought it, its my first 118hp bike after replacing my Yamaha XT 225.

Hey Mate, no need to tune the bike with just the exhaust installed. If you add an hi-flo air filter then I would get it tuned to suit. They do benefit from a tune either way. They still pop an crackle with the stock exhaust it's just very muffled and less noticeable. It's to do with the pair valve system that injects air into the exhaust ports to burn excess fuel thats left over from the decel fuel cut. This can be blocked off and turned off in a tune. 👍

Ive actually been learning to do a lot of the maintenance myself since I like to save money and also learn along the way (obivously only the for the stuff I feel confident in). Anyways, I really appreciate the feedback!!

@@mariushoetzel5978 get it tuned bikes run super lean when stock exhaust and cat is removed i had mine dyno tuned and flashed and it not longer pops n spits flames thats because now my air fuel ratio is correct

@@carolinayamadawg8706 Im on another account, but I just bought the Power Vision 3 modul and I flashed it with a stock exhaust map no rev limit and no speed limit, what a difference it makes when you flash it, it runs so much smoother (Throttle doesnt jerk as much as before).

Strange, I could just hear mine pop with the factory exhaust. They pop from 4k and below on overrun. What exhaust do you have ?

Hi, no it will not damage the engine. It's just unburnt fuel in the exhaust created by snapping the throttle shut quickly and with the air injected into the exhaust ports via the pair valves it ignites inside the exhaust. 👍

Before 2020 MT09 suspension should be replaced not the exhaust.

Or: Swap the bike for a 2020 SP, then go for the Termignoni or Akrapovic full system and have it flashed/dyno-tuned by a pro.

No it's to do with the pair/ais valves that pump air into the exhaust ports. Which helps in burning any unburnt fuel in the exhaust resulting in the flames. They will still shoot flames after a tune, unless you block off the pair/ais system. Marble in the hose from the airbox works a treat.

I dropped a chisel down inside the exhaust and that pushed it out. Just drop a screwdriver down inside and it will come out. 👍
