got my VPC warbird bases today.. the are much bigger then i thought and the axle where the stick is attached is updated , its now silver with milled groves to prevent turning. I faded 50% out of Thrustmaster now , with left and right Sticks Virpil Mongoose t50, warbird bases and the Thrustmaster Warthog throttle and TPR Pedals. for my Grips i waited 30days more or less but the bases arived in roughly a week. I had my right Stick at Virpil for some defective Buttons.. they send me a Video showing my Sticks serialnumber and kept my Stick in the view while turning the camera a bit..the technican showed me LIVE the testing procedure. I felt guilty for wasteing their time but was speechless about the transparency of the efford they took. So i resumed the grip had compability issues with my left and right Warthog bases. This is going to turn into a classic back and forth, but: thank you for taking the time to put out content! I've noticed that through all the years I've been gaming (around three decades), that I've grown towards getting better gear, more suitable or built for certain situations. In my teens I used to be able to adjust a lot to the peripherals at hand (also there wasn't as much around for the average consumer), but in my twenties I've been getting slightly more comfortable equipment (ie pro controllers, mice according to my preferences and such) and now I totally understand the enjoyment and ease of having controls designed specifically for certain types of situations. Now I'm looking forward to having a healthy life, work and game balance, first two are quite alright, the last needs to be correctly implemented ^^'

to anyone wondering about taking the risk to get virpl products, you will not be disappointed. Im cheap af but it was worth getting these. growing up my dad had saitek joysticks and even as a kid i didnt like them cause of the lazy centering spring and puck, fast forward to my 30's and i bought thrustmaster t1600. leaps and bounds better than previous brand but they did look pretty ugly. was great till the twist axis gave out after a year. i then had a buddy talk me into virpl. 2 years later i finally got one and instantly was hooked. out the box no setting tweaks and it was perfect. 2-3 years later and still feel like day one use. I now own 2 sticks and a throttle from them. im sure these will last till my kids are old enough to use them.

I guess I'll still get the WarBRD gimbal. Was looking at these, not sure I'd use the additional bells and whistles it includes....except the clutch is VERY tempting. Wish they could do that with an upgraded WarBRD. Just the anti-backlash if I dump the stick is totally worth it. The only Helo's I'll fly are in War Thunder....not arcade, but DEFINITELY not Sim-level controls. Would be fun AF to buzz around in a G-Lynx harassing tanks though! My only IRL experience is with RV-7A flying aerobatics. That was a fly-by-cable and you didn't so much as move the stick as think hard at the stick. Just pressure is all you used, unlike modern hydraulic systems the force on the control surfaces was pushed directly to the stick/pedals.
@1SaG2 жыл бұрын
Was very close to getting the WarBRD, but I really wanted clutches/dampening. Then the CM3 came out but after I added it all up and compared it to the VKB Gunfighter, the VKB made more sense, financially. IIRC, including a VKB or VPC deskmount and with comparable grips, the Virpil setup would've been 40% more expensive, all in. So I went with the GF MCG Pro - I would've considered the Ultimate before they raised its price to nearly €600 but that was out of stock at the time. After a bit of tinkering, cleaning off the rotting factory grease and putting some fresh dampening grease on there, I couldn't be happier with it. Virpil is still very much on my radar though and I do hope you'll do a side by side comparison between their stuff and the Gunfighter you currently have in for review.

One reason why i choose VKB above Virpil is the recommendations from some people saying Virpil has issues with breaking springs and cams. Seeing how you open them up and the whole build quality, i'm beginning to question how true those comments are....

Just wanted to put my 2c in here. Bought the CM3 for my RH in DCS to replace the Warbrd. I can't recommend this upgrade for anyone in a similar position. My setup: VFX Grip/S-Extension/WarBrd + EXHeavy Spring. After upgrading to the CM3: Noob is 100% correct on all his points, but the problem is 2 things for me. 1, the drag clutches have to be turned completely off to allow the fine motor skills around the center for say Aerial Refuling or whatever. 2, The maximum tension at the extremities is technically less due to the design differences. The WB pulls the spring apart so the tension increases exponentially at the extremities. The CM3 compresses the spring so I felt it go to max tension around the 90% and kind of plateu. Customizability was next level and a great option for someone that wants to bounce between cams and springs, but as I use the same setup all the time regardless of the game it was of no benefit to me. TLDR: It's not a good upgrade if you have no plans on utilizing the clutches, swapping cams/spring often. If you just plan to set it once and never change anything for a RH stick, I prefer the WB. Sold it to my buddy for a LH stick in StarCitizen. It's really great, but just can't justify the money if I'm not using the features. Kinda like buying a dump truck to get a corde of wood. Thanks for the review!

I just got an order from virpil usa a few days ago, cm2 base 2 alphas mounts and a throttle, everything came wrapped in bubble wrap, then a bag, and taped tight. All fit snugly into the boxes they were in. Throttle was the same and so was the base but they were each inside there own boxes with propper snugness and those boxes were inside of another box inside a bigger box for shipping, was very impressed how much nothing moved when shook.

@@bloodchain80 I was less impressed with what I got. Love the product don't get me wrong. But my sticks came in bubbkw wrap and sliding around a box.

Damnit @thenoobifier. First off I’m a new subscriber and i very much appreciate your videos about flight sims. But damnit man. I’m just getting ready to dive headfirst into the whole flight sim experience. I’ve played the old school ms flight sims back in the day mainly attempted to fly helicopters with my old cheap flight stick and throttle. I’ve sunk hundreds of hours into arma 3. Mainly flying helicopters but with mouse and keyboard only. I’ve always wanted a set of rudder pedals but never but never pulled the trigger on any brand. But verpil and winwing never came into my radar until recently. I just finished building my new pc. I am really interested in dcs world. Is buying a cyclic completely necessary for dcs? Or can i get by with a proper flight stick plus throttle system? Of course i’ll be going for a good set of rudder pedals.

I am happy to help. For simulation, absolutely nothing is fully necessary. It all boils down to how much you plan to spend using it against how much it’s going to cost against how much money you have to spend. Obviously the more specialized the gear you buy, the more your simulation improves.

@@NOOBIFIER1337 the only problem i see is that virpil products are all on back order. So it could possibly be months before i get my products I’m guessing.

Disappointed they didn't keep backwards compatibility with the mounting.
