MTA Long Island Rail Road 3rd Track Main Line Action @ Mineola (10/18/22)

As of October 2022, the main line expansion project, which encompassed building a 3rd track between Floral Park and Hicksville, and accompanying station renovations has been largely completed. Enjoy a bit of mid-day action as we set up in Mineola. For now, the full potential of the added capacity will remain unutilized until East Side Access opens, upon which time the schedules will be completely overhauled and service increased substantially. Stay tuned =)

But new hyde park lost its railroad crossings and looks awful. The railroad crossings meant tons of horn action.

It seems silly for an interchange station (one between the Oyster Bay and Mainline/Port Jeff) is now effectively a local station without a platform for the center track.

I don't understand how trains can pass to the same side on opposite tracks without accidents. at the end it stops at the station on both sides and goes to the same side. Cheers. Google traductor lol
