I operated all the trains in the museum except the gate cars. The worst braking were the oldest, Q cars. THE ABSOLUTE BEST BRAKING & HANDLING WERE THE R32 CARS. If a person had a cup of coffee filled to the brim, I could brake the R32 & you would not spill a drop. I was a motorman 1968 to 1979, then I was promoted to motorman instructor in1979.

42nd PABT going southbound is fun, especially on the express (A3 track), approach at way over 40. An R46 on the C, local I will enter the station at around 38 if I don't have an Echo in front of me, and the station is clear.

Looks good! In comparison to my city's Metro (Mexico City) the trains look wider and overall better maintained. Also the NYC system covers more area than my city's. One big disadvantage though from this Subway vs Mexico's is the noise and the vibrations that the trains generate. In Mexico the trains are mostly running on rubber tires, which makes them much much quieter and produce way less vibration (I guess this was decided based on the fact that CDMX has earthquakes). Great video!

The green "O" you see is LED lights indicating that it is local in The Bronx. If you had seen a red diamond instead it indicates its express in The Bronx. These R62s cars were modified years ago by Corona Yard to add this light system as you have express and local 7 trains. A quick change system was needed to alert riders if the train was local or express without the tedious old method of changing the scroll signs. The light signs can be changed trainline with a toggle switch in any operating position.

So the B Train and D train are the 2 trains that got 8 car sets only right??

B and D run 8 car 75 foot R68 and R68A cars. The D is R68 only, the B is mixed with mostly R68A. The A is running R46s mixed in so those are 8 car. The C is also 8 car trains, 75 foot R46s and 60 foot R179s. The L line is 8 car R143, 60 footers. The M and J/Z are all 8 car 60 footers of both R160 and R179. The Q is all R46 right now and run 8 cars. There are also R46s mixed on the N/W right now too, so those are only 8-car also. The G is 4 car R46 and R68. The 7 is eleven car 50 foot R188s, every other mainline train in the IRT is all 10 car units, except on midnights when the 5 shuttle from Dyre to E180 runs two 5 car units

Why not maglev choise 2-4 charged bars, tracks? Especially subway tubes, electric repulsion stabile state charged trains. Faraday cage tubes and train, no extra strong field problems. Maybe partial tube vacumization, losses minimal. 😅

Hey Fan Railer, i kinda want your opinion on this. I have a fictional subway system and one particular stretch is used by 3 subway lines (1 express and 2 locals). M15 is the Express and the local trains are M2 and M5, at a certain point the main line goes from 4 tracks to 2 tracks. So what do you think i should do? Give M15 trains priority over all M2 trains, Give M15 trains priority over all M5 trains or Give the M15 priority over both M2 and M5 trains? I hope that you can respond. Have a nice day 👍👍👍👍
