Sorry the hole depths are 7cm, 9cm, 11cm and 13cm, not mm as in the video. I made these train whistles for my two year old nephew for Christmas. I hope he will like them, I'm not sure if his parents will though.

Nice idea, well made. Looks like this is the 1st channel from down under I am going to subscribe. Keep on producing nice things and make videos doing so! (and sorry for my English ...)

I'm amazed he still has all of his fingers. There are several dangerous procedures he does, that can be done safely. Tung oil is a poor choice for something that will have your lips on it..

Those hole depths on the screen are nonsense. It says 7,9,11,13 mm, they are obviously much deeper than that

This was really well thought. I planning on sending in a patent application for making whistles that intend to sound like ACTUAL locomotives that did or still do exist. I may do different designs depending on the amount of chimes depending on the number of chimes.

I'm not saying it will be lucrative, but there are definitely train enthusiasts that would love that idea. I have a family member that I think would get a kick out of having a true sound train whistle to a specific train.

@@mtarrant3 7, 9, 11 and 13mm different depth? Or do you mean the depth of the holes are 7, 9, 11 and 13 CM ? The space between the lines on your drill is more than 2mm. I really like the sound and i'am going to make one.

G'day Mark, the holes are 7, 9, 11 and 13 cm deep into the wood.

Nice. Do you intend these for pocket novelty use, or shop air ? Bar/PSI ?
@mtarrant35 жыл бұрын
One of these was a present for a 3 year old, so yer I made them as toys. The air pressure to make them work is a blow from the lungs, so what ever that is in PSI/Bar.

Why do people keep mentioning this? I would think that whistles tuned for being blown with the lungs might work terribly with high pressure / flow.

Great job!! Could you translate the measurements on your drill bit to inches
