Don’t know you personally Jim but having watched and enjoyed your vids for years, being of a similar age with similar passions and having been through similar tough stages of life I know how you feel and can appreciate what you’re going through. Life ain’t about standing still and things change, but til you find the positives of a new direction you have to understand and accept the negatives for what they are. Over time our journeys take different paths but it doesn’t devalue everything that brought us to this point. Jim, your composure is a lesson to us all. Life takes its turns and this one’s tough - you’re learning who your friends are and the very best won’t take sides unfairly - very important for the young ones to see that as they’re always learning from you (whatever impression they give 😂). Glad the ankle took the racing and as for that sad get crying to teacher even when it’s nothing to do with him - well, in amateur racing, rules are there to guide a safe and fun time for all and you met that standard and more. I follow your channel because I have an e-bike and like seeing how they perform, my next bike will most probably be an Orbea now I see how they perform. But I thought the rules are the rules, when a competition is entered, a contract is entered into, to abide by them the organiser should have stuck by his rules. I think because some influencers are well respected people are a bit scared to go against them. The peddle falling off was a mechanical issue, and I think you'd agree was a maintenance problem not caused by anyone else. Keep up the good work, and all the best for the coming weeks.

Jim this is a tough watch. Been following your videos for years and you've always been an open person with your family and emotions. This must ve a really tough tineregardkess of the ins and outs. Mates and bikrs are great medicine. Regarding this event ...The last thing you want is some jobs worth picking up on stuff that makes no difference to them. I think I’d just accept that as racing, you can crash, something can break. The only thing that winds me up is that someone complained who you weren’t even competing with 🤷‍♂️. I’ve been single for 11 years now and love the freedom. Although might have struggled more if it hadn’t been for bikes and the loons I hang round with. Bikes will carry you through the tough times.

Top riding again Jim. Love the videos you put out. I’ve just gone through stoma reversal, so my riding is on hold for a few months. Watching lots of biking vids at the mine, I was aiming to go to Ardrock last week to watch , but surgery was on the 25th. Hope my biking skills can improve now I’ll be riding without a shit bag on my front. That guys sounds a right he tool by the way. Guess some folk take things to seriously. Keep your chin up mate. That’s a difficult one Jim, rules are there to make it fair for everyone but there is also a level of common sense to be applied and if everyone else was ok with a rerun that should have been enough really. Gidday Jim, youre a hard man racing with a gammy foot, didnt seem to slow you down though! Its a bit shitballs about the home life, its not a nice feeling but time will heal and sort things out. Pedal Gate........snitches end up in ditches. what goes around often comes around but you may not be about to witness it, rules are rules I guess?? Where are you in the standings now after this round? Ive come down to Nelson from Wellington (NZ) for quite a while with work, gone to the dark side and bought an E MTB as the climbs here are brutal. Dialed the speeds back so I still have to work on the up but honestly Im very suprised how it handles on the down, it really stays planted and fun to ride. Not just a tank as I assumed, Bloody game changer! Take care.

My Dad is going through the same thing at the moment Jim. It's a shit situation but you'll come right eventually. Keep busy and remember what you have and who you have around you and that will pull you through. I've learned that biking can be beneficial in more ways than you think so stay at it. I’ve had a similar experience when racing 1/8th Rc cars that Someone complained about me running different equipment that was within the rules, but not the same as the other lemming competitors. All for a £7 trophy for 3rd place in a 9 round series 🏆 So Surly the race directors decision should stand from his first chat with you. The complainer 🫵 should be ashamed of himself, as he had nothing to gain from getting you dq’d from the event, apart from being shamed, printed T-shirts might be the answer to avoid this miserable person At the end of the day where all a bunch of lunatics on our bikes enjoying our time before our ticket is punched. Chin up. 💪
