I am the satisfied owner of an 09 Voyager converted Yamaha VStar 1100 Custom that I purchased in June of this year. It is far from my first venture into two wheels. I have owned bikes with and without motors since my early teens and put thousands of miles on them, some on the street and others off. I had to quit riding on two wheels (including my bicycles) a little over 10 years ago because of uncontrollable muscle tremors. It really crushed me. A little over a year ago, I had brain surgery with a pacemaker implant that now controls my tremors. Regardless of your loyalty to a certain motorcycle group, anything that gets you back on a saddle should be a option. I think the most difficult part of riding a Voyager bike was the re-learning of some riding techniques such as cornering, and getting over the need to balance and put your feet down on stops, just like this video says. I did watch this video before I purchased the bike and learned as much as I could on other sources about the proper setup and adjustment of the conversion. I spent time to correctly center the Voyager frame and get all the adjustments, most importantly tire pressures and suspension preload, within specs. The end result was a dramatic change that created a bike that I just love to ride. I park it right in with all the 'big dogs' and they usually come over to check it out and chat a bit about the different way it looks and works. It's pretty cold and snowy out right now, so it's parked in a neighbor's garage under wraps for the winter. I wave and talk to it every time I go by, promising I will rescue it and ride away again in the spring. In the state where I live, this conversion is classified as a motorcycle. There are no fee state sponsored rider safety courses for trike configurations and two wheels. A trike license endorsement restricts you to three wheels but the regular motorcycle endorsement works for all configurations.

Good Video! I have been riding 2 wheels for over 40 years. I recently purchased a bike for my wife with the Voyager kit on it so she can ride when I can't. Trike riding is a whole different ball game for me and your video helped a lot. Thank you!

I'm going to take my motorcycle license test again, after failing my first test last week by putting my feet down is a big no no . it made me fail. so now keep your feet on the peddles always. It won't tip over. I've been riding bikes since 16 yrs old, i'm now 78 and learner a hard lesson.

Nice video, I have never rode a motorcycle before, but bought a Honda goldwing for a good price. So I need this trike because of a old Iraq war injury, my knees are so bad.

I was in the process of triking my 2017 Kawasaki Vaquero, because my knees won't hold up the bike anymore, due to 30yrs of military service. I was hoping to make it into a reverse conversion, unfortunately the company I was planning to use no longer converts anything but a Goldwing. Bummer! So, question, do I have to do anything to the triple trees? I was told that it may need to for stability. I do plan on keeping it on about 90% of the time. Thank You. RS&GB!!

With a bit of weight being removed from the drive wheel, I expect drive wheel tire wear would increase a bit too.

Unfortunately, that is one of the few bikes we have tried and cannot convert. It's likely due to there being little exposed frame that's strong enough to endure our attachment points long term. Dang!

Hello...I had a Voyager trike kit installed on my Yamaha Royal Star about a year ago and it's been great. I forgot to ask the installer how much air pressure I put in the rear tires. Especially the center power tire. Does anyone know the correct air pressure for the rear wheels with the trike installed? Thanks so much.

20 psi in the Voyager tires. Your tires on your motorcycle is whatever the manufacturer recommends

Not everything in this video is true for all trikes based on bikes. Mine EML-GL1500 did not lift a rear-wheel in tight circles. It stayed on the ground and started sliding/drifting if you really forced it. Also no shaking front wheel thanks to swingarm front with a car tyre (like in sidecars) And no problems with ground clearance. Same for my EZS GL1800 reversed trike. About arms as steering dampers, often people make it worse by doing this. Let the trike do its thing. If the design is such that you need to do this, then do it. But it should not be necessary if the design is good. .
