Hi Manoj, thanks for appreciation. Sorry for the delayed response from my side. Cut off varies across various departments and various IITs. Its safe to aim above 60+ marks to get into one of the IITs. If you are from branches like Civil or mechanical, you can also write XE paper, which will help you to score high with less effort. Check syllabus. If you are in third year, just start with completed syllabus in college. Maths, General Aptitude and select few high yielding subjects for your stream. Practice lot of Previous year questions, that is the best resource we have. If needed, join a coaching center also.

For first year, Give focus to engineering drawing that's very helpful for mechanical (Try to be the best). If you have interest, learn Python (it will be useful somewhere or other). 2nd year on, when core subjects starts - you will find areas which are very interesting you. Yes, no need to get confused. It's required in every industry whether mech related, electrical or electronics related industry. Also, there are openings in PSUs. PSG is a good college as well. Be curious and use the facilities to learn well. All the best.

You can write GATE but there wont be much use now. Hence, it's better to take it after MCA. Then you will be able to get into MTech based on it.

PSUs will put advertisement of their vacancies based on GATE score. We need to apply, then they will have an interview. GATE will be for 70 marks and interview for 30 marks. Based on merit we will get appointment.
