@@ElectricUnicycles There are some VESC models out now that allow you to vary the tilt angle with a hand held remote. It's custom and specialized, however it's out there, and that hill may be doable. The Float Life and Wren have both been playing with a versions that have the tilt. TFL the other day climbed a couple of hills from dead stops, that would be impossible with models without a VESC. Hi Marty. If mten4 rides like mten3, is there any reason to get it if you already have mten3? Also, does it have a kill switch?
@ElectricUnicycles2 жыл бұрын
I don't think so unless you want the latest and greatest. It still feels very much like the Mten3. I will say that mounting this new version is more natural because the body is square (doesn't taper towards the top like the Mten3) and that's a plus. And since there is much less shell there is less shell to get in the way (the Mten3 would never be able to climb that hill at the end of the video because the shell would get in the way). So it might depend on how you play with the Mten3/4 When I get my personal copy and ride it more extensively I might have a different opinion. It does not have a kill switch (like that later versions of the Mten3).

Ewheels have the option of getting the original off-road tire or to get the street tire. Hypothetically speaking, if you were to order from Ewheels, which tire option would you get Marty? Of course you only have ridden the off-road tire, but since you already know how it feels, would you stick with the off-road tire or would you venture into getting the street tire for the Mten4?

This is an extremely difficult question to ask without knowing a lot about you. There's a vast price range with wheels with a corresponding range in capabilities. Only wheel, neither one. MCM5v3 the pedals don't fold up nicely and the handle is thin. MTen is just small. Nothing has displaced my Telsa as my opinion of a casual only-wheel if you aren't riding 20 miles at a time.

How would the MTEN4 work for a 1st EUC to learn on? The thought of a super small EUC is just intriguing to me.
@xorbe22 жыл бұрын
MTen is absolutely a super cool wheel to mess around on, BUT because it's short, it's going to torque massively against your lower legs while you are learning ... it may be easier to learn on a lighter weight 16" wheel
@ElectricUnicycles2 жыл бұрын
It's not the ideal wheel but is much better to learn on than the Mten3 due to the better shell shape of the Mten4. If the tire pressure is lowered during the learning period it can help greatly. I have known people who learned how to ride on the Mten3 so it's totally doable. That all being said, the Mten class of wheels is specialty and you will certainly want a mainstream wheel eventually.
@QuachMD2 жыл бұрын
@@ElectricUnicycles Thanks for the input! I eventually want to buy a Veteran Sherman, but I hear that's definitely not one to learn on. At most, I can't see myself justifying having more than 2 EUCs, so I figure having two at the opposite ends of the spectrum would make sense.

Hello dear Marty. I have a concern: I want to buy the Tesla V3 because I have the V2 but I need more battery. I want to ask you for advice: I buy the V3 and I keep the V2 too? Do you know if V2 and V3 share the same board? Thanks for ALWAYS responding. From Medellin Colombia
@ElectricUnicycles2 жыл бұрын
I don't know if V2 and V3 use the same board but they probably don't. Older wheels will always be harder to get replacement parts. Then again, most of the ~28-wheels that I've own never needed parts.

Dear Marty, thanks for the video. I had an Mten3, I sold it because it was uncomfortable. Let me explain: The start of the Mten3, only the start is uncomfortable because it is necessary to mount the other foot very quickly. The shell size is too small to comfortably walk on one foot for a few meters. You understand me? You have to twist your body in an almost ugly way. The snatch is not "fancy" like all other wheels. So stopping and staring is not pleasant at all. I ask you: is the Mten 4 more comfortable to start and stop than the Mten3? Another thing: 4 is as nervous as 3? I send you a hug from Medellin, Colombia
@ElectricUnicycles2 жыл бұрын
The Mten4 does not seem to suffer from that problem. The Mten3 has curved shell that is more narrow at the top, making it more difficult to mount as you describe. The Mten4 has a square shell so you mount it like any other wheel. Yes, the Mten4 is "nervous" like the Mten3 :-)

he came way too fast on second and third attempts, this wheel is small, so it has no inertia and you have to carry it with you over obstacles, which you can not do when climbing, but on the other hand (or feet?) the small diameter means that the wheel has a lot of torque, you can climb that hill very slowly, without any problem. Edit: Also, as he found out, you have to put your feet back, otherwise the tip of the feet touch the ground and you fall.
