When Blackpink debuted in 2016 some of the top 2nd Gen girl groups disbanded in that year. (2NE!, 4minute, Sistar, After School, CLC, GFREIND, Rainbow, IZ*ONE, Wonder Girls.) So there was a vacuum in their competition. This helped Blackpink and other girl groups which debuted in 2016 to gain market share. T-ARA disbanded in 2017 removing another top 2nd Gen group.

Yes, Girls Generation considered the most famous legendary girl group that passed in Korean history, and they were the most famous group in the second generation of K-Pop, but of course, we cannot forget groups such as Wonder Girls, 2ne1, Miss A, and Sistar, as they were very strong rivals and had great successes. As for the third generation, Twice, Blackpink, and Red Velvet have been at the top since their debut, and yes, as you guys said, Blackpink views are amazing because they release one song ber a year, in addition to having a huge fan base obsessed with Streaming, so I laughed when the guy said that he had never heard of these songs before - I was like exactly thank you!
