Magic The Gathering Arena | Standard Gameplay Best of One
Ok, there's a lot to explain here, but first, I don't know if its just me, but upon testing the deck, I always pair up against a weird deck, which is great to see a different deck, or its just most are also play testing, I could wait out and see for the real new meta to test this deck out, but my janky senses are tingling and there's a lot of cards I want to try out, so I apologize if the gameplay looks rig.
You are probably wondering, Why did I put a Valley Floodcaller on a control deck? Would it be better if I used it in a spell-slinger deck or aggro deck? Well, I would like to utilize that it gives instant speed on a non-creature spell, like the idea behind the deck, making the opponent discard on there draw step, which is my main goal, but I didnt manage to pull most of the time l0lz, but if it works, it works, right?
Duress: same with Binding Negotiation, being able to see what is in the opponent's hand and choose what needs to be discarded will give you an edge moving forward. Also, you might consider replacing Binding Negotiation with Cruelclaw's Heist.
Founding the Third Path: mainly for recasting the instant and sorcery spells that are in the graveyard, and using its first chapter would trigger the prowess of the otter, plus chapter two will fill up the opponent graveyard and trigger a crime.
Into the Flood Maw: You could replace this with a different bounce spell, like Anauthorized Exit.
Bitter Triumph: Feed the Cycle was fine, but if you can't forage, it will be three mana spot removal.
Aetherhub: aetherhub.com/...
Note:
If you try this deck, please let me know what your experience with it. Most of the replays are cherry picked just to showcase the deck, which means it may not give you a good win rate, but I'm hoping it was at least give you an interesting game.

Hello kcryle. Thanks for a nice deck idea and video. What's the winning rate of your deck? I just dont want to craft those 4 rare otters for nothing ;)

To be honest, I rarely pay attention to the win rate, I often concede due to certain issues. But to me, the deck is decent; it has done its job as intended and is not to grindy, unlike other control decks; it actually feels like a midrange deck. I recommend only spending your wild card if you have any spare. but I don't think that otter will be wasteful, I could see it could fit in different decks, especially if you like control and spell slinger decks.

You could absolutely lean more into control and play 2 or 3 instead of 4. Then if you crack or find another you’ll have plenty. Every set the game will give you x4 random, possibly good, rares. From cracking packs. The cards will come to you like you’re magnetic lol this is ofc anecdotal and completely based on my experience over the last few years. In my case it’s usually rares I’m not building with 😂

@@l0lan00b3 I dont trust my RNG when it comes to opening packs, lol, but having a limited set of cards is also a good thing, it makes you look for different or alternative ways of building a deck.

Hey may I suggest that you could consider including all the other cards in the sideboard on Aetherhub as well in your deck lists? Appreciate the content! Mabuhay! Are you available to connect on Discord?
