I haven't played Magic for years but I want to get back into it. There's a couple shops near me that do FNM and currently I don't have any cards. Would picking up one or two of these intro packs be a good way to get back into the game? They're pretty cheap as far as Magic cards go so on the surface it seems like a good idea but I was wondering what more experienced up to date people think?

so I'm a beginner to this game (i already had cards) but decided to buy this intro deck, to start fresh. After going through the deck i decided to replace Felidar Sovereign and a plains card with a belligerent whiptail and a mountain. I figured this because i already had one high mana cost card, the defiant blood lord and wanted a card that could attack almost straight away and something i could fall back on while thinking of strategies. Should i have done this?

that filidar soverign is so Over powered vigilance, lifelink 4/6 in a deck full of life linkers and other ways to gain life that is a win card!

+ShockPopStudios The card has been out for forever and has seen no play whatsoever. Most games just don't last til turn 6 in Modern, and you cannot guarantee the win. Soul Sisters has better finishers. And in Standard there is little feasible life gain, lifelink is not consistent and the metagame is fast enough.

AbsoluteMTG Exactly. I would argue to the point that it isn't even EDH worthy, but then I'm a Spike and used to extremely broken decks. It depends on playgroup.
