Me too!! It's one of our signature series here. There are SO MANY deck techs out there, but how many come back to it? How man show attempts to update or upgrade it constantly over a series of videos? WE DO!

Zopandrel, Momentous Fall, Samut-Vizeir of Naktamun, Zilortha-StrengthIncarnate, Goreclaw, Ohran-FrostFang, Last March Of Ents These are all cards that dont include the Moraug or Sneak Attack style of beats you. Card is key to Gruul decks. Put 3-5 threats on board let the table sort it out. Meanwhile you are filling your hand with the next volley of threats. Zopandrel is Xenagos v2.0 And Goreclaw reduce that high cmc. My version has a few less beaters but i get them out so consistently and play pb&j cards like Asuza, Orcale of Mul Dia, and Kenrith's Transformation.

GREAT suggestions! Full disclosure: Once available copies of Zoprandel and Last March of the Ents become available, those babies are going straight into the 99 of this deck! Momentous Fall is already in the deck. I actually had a copy of Zilortha primed to make an appearance in this deck, but after evaluating the creatures already present in the build, I decided against its inclusion because the power and toughness of the creatures here are almost identical. So Z's ability does not make enough of a impact to warrant its inclusion into this deck. I am hesitant to include creatures like Goreclaw, Samut and Frostfang due to their lack of evasion, opting instead for peripheral mana ramp and card-draw spells. In Gruul colors, we are not bashful about mana ramp and don't have an overwhelming need to draw more cards. For a creature without evasion to be included here, it must do something VERY impactful (Malignus, Hydra Omnivore, Godo, Urabrask), which Moraug definitely does and is a very worth consideration for placement into the 99. This deck is all about haymakers, and Moraug could add a lot more hay for sure! Awesome suggestions! Thank you for sharing them!!

@mtgburgeoning3205 I can understand. Goreclaw is best used as a cost reduction because you have so much trample. Ohran-FrostFang isn't ment to attack. Since you have tramplers they would gain death touch. Meaning they assign 1 point of death touch and the REST is damage to the face. So really your attackers all read "destory target blocking creature and draw a card when you deal combat damage". I play Z because I do play more support creatures. Once I have 7 lands and maybe a mana rock or two. I want to be able to send in my Azusa or Dragonborne Champion a few times for those extra points of damage. I found in my old list I had lots of small tokens with anthem effects

@mtgburgeoning3205 I hadn't played EDH until Neon Dynasty. But I found a deck box that was buried in my closet. Completely forgetting the a had built a deck with random stuff but never had a play group to try it with. I also found a zurgo (mardu) with maybe 70ish cards in and a piece of note paper with card names. He is my next update build. Just for pure nostalgic reasons. (I mostly play cEDH these days) but still cool to see that after several years of not playing magic at all. I had once upon a time given it some kind of thought. I just don't really remember

@@tylercoleman316 Not at all! With a healthy amount of ramp and mana rocks in the 99, having just one of these spells in our opening hand allows us to cast Xenagos ahead of curve, which also means that we can cast our bigguns ahead of curve too, or more easily cheat them into play. If we're lucky enough to curve into Rapacious One or Savage Ventmaw after casting Xenagos, then we can ramp ahead even further ahead of our opponents. Long live Gruul!

I would find a way to keep Drakuseth... that total of 10 extra damage to any three targets on each attack...

It's becoming more and more difficult to evaluate the creatures in decks like this because of the level of power-creep. Which creature would you replace with Drakuseth in the current 99 of this build?

@@mtgburgeoning3205 erebos. Board wipes. No one gains life. Dig for pestilence & meathook. Death for everyone fast if I grab meathook & dark ritual early. ♥ phyrexian reclamation & I drop all the 2 CMC make each opponent discard a card creatures. Reclamation them & make everyone discard constantly. It's dumb fun.
