MTG Legacy: The MH3 Series - Yorion Aluren with Flare of Cultivation

MH3 is here! Bringing a lot of upgrades to a lot of archetypes, including an old favorite of mine, Aluren. Today we see if Veteran Explorer + Flare of Cultivation gives the deck the speed it needs.

I play Bowmaster as my only wincon as well and find that saving targets for the ping saves quite a bit of time.

In terms of slightly trimming on mana, how about Lorien Revealed? Ups the blue count and hardcasting it seems very real

​@@Pokemoki Otaba was playing four in their Yorion Aluren build late last year, that's probably too many but I imagine you can fit at least two in fairly smoothly.

I'm playing Satoru, the infiltrator, and a thassa's orcale so cavern harpy just decks myself

Noob question, is Acererak not good enough because it can't be tutored by Recruiter?

It's a card I'm not a fan of because it's only good when aluren is in play. I think in builds of the deck with no white mana/recruiter then it is a fine card

Can you escape Uro without paying its mana cost with Aluren?

Sadly no, aluren only affects cards from hand. That would be sweet if you could

​@@Pokemoki this is actually not true Aluren affects cards in all zones but Escape is an Alternative cost like Aluren and therefore those two things clash

Have you tried Flare of Denial in this deck? Countering a spell while sacing the veteran explorer would be sick.

colours vet expl is not blue

You need to sac a blue creature to flare of denial. That being said, a build with 4 ice fang 4 coiling Oracle might be interesting
