Just a note since I haven't seen it mentioned and I think it's a cool line. In match 4 game 2 you had chalice on 1. This was a problem since you wanted to EE on 1 to blow up both channelers. However EE has sunburst so you could play it with x=2 but only use for example blue mana to pay for the spell and it would enter with just a single counter. This also works with cost altering effects like thalia. If thalia is in play and you want to EE on 2, simply set x=1, and the cost will be 2 and you can spend two different colors of mana on it. If you find in testing that the base is too painful for burn or aggro, cut 1 blue fetch for an additional Sunken Ruin and the math will continue to be very similar. Good luck with the deck! Its a really cool take on the flash Archetype that I think could really take off!

There was also a lot of flooding. I'd say add some of the BW horizon canopy land but the mana is already super painful supporting double colors of 3 types plus leyline binding. The real problem could be too ambitious of casting costs in the spells.

@@WolfLink64 yea, I mean, I did the math, and it’s a very tight list. You’re accuracy in pulling off the plays the deck needs on the right turns goes down when you only use 23 lands. Most plays I highlighted have an 80% success rate or higher. I just prefer 90% success rates for the decks I’m being or playing.

I hadn't clicked on this video for a few days because I saw Slitherwisp in the thumbnail and thought there was no way the deck could be good. But after watching it in action, the card felt very similar to Risen Reef now that we have a good density of Flash spells. The mana is rough, but the card quality is actually pretty good I think. Loved this vid! I know I'm commenting a month after it has gone up, however this deck inspired some other ideas I thought would be fun. What if you went more ago? There was a card I had forgotten about till this video went up and thought it could at least use a look over. That card being a creature called "Grim Wanderer" which is a [1B] 5/3 Goblin Warlock with Flash. Only restriction is that you can only cast him if a creature died this turn. With Orcish Bowmasters you can guerentee that with it's token, in worst case scenarios. Then you could lean into Kaito (3 mana) for extra draw and Kaito (4 mana) to return flash creatures to hand if you need to. Just food for thought

I made a very similar list to this after MH3 dropped and I added amphibian downpour from mh3 and niambi, esteemed speaker, she's pretty much a 5th and 6th samwise that let's you re use your evokamentals while gaining life and if you get flooded on samwises you can discard them for card draw. I also ran brazen borrower which helps with the beat down but usually gets sided out. Also waterlogged teachings was made for this deck

i think you noticed halfway through but in the first match you were exiling their ring before they tapped it, if you let them tap it and then exile it in response they don't draw any cards.

@@ADudeWhoExperiences1393 it is, but if you check that's part of the resolution, not the cost. so if you let them tap it first and destroy it in response, it had zero counters when it was sent to graveyard. it tries to resolve, put a counter (unable) then draw cards equal to the amount of counters it had when sent (0)

Hi Aids 👋, that was a blast to watch. Your version and the version of Dack_Fayden07 are refreshing strategies for the modern format. As options to test, I would suggest : - Ertai Resurrected for its versatility, even with Bowmasters and being able to counter Solitude's evoke ability (2 copies maybe) - The Wandering Emperor as a solid value card (1 copy) - Giada and Errant for more card advantage (2 or 3 copies) - Venser, Shaper Savant as an overall good card (1 copy) - Spell Queller to tempo The One Ring, Omnath and more stuff (? copies) But what to cut ? Deep-Fiend Elder seems to be a pretty sweet surprise in the deck. I'll be glad to watch another league with this deck, modified or not👍

If you didn't see it yet when playing against the one ring with leyline if you cast in response to the first tap they will not draw since the one ring doesnt actually get the counter necessary to give the draw.

You could replace a Godless Shrine with a Silent Clearing to help deal with land flood, and Sam can return it to hand, though it conflicts slightly with Leyline Binding. Vendilion Clique is cool but I don't think I'd run it with so many Bowmasters running around, Bowmasters is especially a gut punch if you are trying to Clique yourself, btw. Another thing is that your deck pays a lot of double colored costs (eg Counterspell costs double blue), it might make it easier on the manabase if you tried including some Spell Pierce, Remand/Reprieve, or Stern Scolding, and that can also make it easier to flash out creatures through interaction. You could also try out some really bad advice and include Tale's End, which is an obnoxious card against a lot of decks and is super satisfying to get people with.

Ive tried snapcaster mages but im not sure theyre reliable. Ephemerate feels very good here, letting you scam solitudes and subtletys and getting extra etbs on orcish bowmasters. Like, sometimes you dont wanna use the rebound ephemerate because it will prevent you from attacking but bowmasters doesnt always wanna attack as its a 1/1. So blinking it is cool. I'm gonna have to try the deep fiend tho.

You need to deal with omnath with the draw trigger on the stack. That way they can't gain the 4 life. Might have made a difference in Match 2.

Not sure if this is worth any consideration, but Minion's Return has flash and seems comboable. The downside is that it's a value trap if it fizzles, and it's 3cc which can hurt tempo. It combos really well with Danitha, Benalia's Hope to cause infinite ETB triggers on creatures and auras, if you can sacrifice her for free. Might work with Sage of Mysteries and Thassa's Oracle, for example, but then it's less about abusing Flash. Spectral Adversary seems like it has interesting tricks, but again 2, 4, 6 mana is going to be expensive and slow for Modern. Maybe something above might work for Pioneer? The problem with Sliterwisp is that it needs to hit play, stick around, and then relies on casting lots of spells. Being able to cheat spells out (eg via Evoke) seems to be the most relevant way, but cards like Sakashima's Protege exists too (flash trigger, then cascade into flash).

Needing both double U for counter, Double B for Slitherwisp and double W for SOlutide AND RG Splash for Leyline Binding really stretches the mana base... Feels like you'd need to cut W to have a much better mna base. I guess you're back at the old build then, the only playable UB card seem to be: Brazen Borrower, Brineborn Cutthroat, CUnning Nightbonder, Faerie Mastermind, Merfolk Trickster, Snapcaster, Spellstutter Sprite, Thieves' Guild Enforcer, Soaring Thought-Thief But you could fill out slots with good cards like Fatal Push etc instead.
