I’m starting to get into magic, and I heard modern is one of the bigger competitive formats so I wanted to check it out. I’ve combed through a few tournament vods on youtube, but I never know what’s going on because I can’t read the cards or tell what they are easily. Idk if you’re looking for feedback, but getting an editor to highlight cards or show stack resolutions or something would be amazing. I’m able to keep up with some of the Commander shows on youtube because they flash cards on screen. A little clarification would go a long way to get more people interested

You could watch mtggoldfish budget modern videos, he goes through each card and their purpose in the deck. MTGO stream vids from aspiringspike and Andrea mengucci also sometimes have a card preview when moused over.

yeah, that has always been a problem with most magic coverage. would suggest checking out the most recent pro tour coverage, which was modern and they bring up card details etc. defo more helpful for newer players. but with the speed of the format sometimes, its not the easiest thing to do to show cards on screen without distracting from the action for the more seasoned players.

I'd suggest watching streamers like yungdingo or Andrea mengucci play on mtgo. If you're into brewing then aspiringspike might be good but his personality isn't for everyone. They're all pretty good about explaining things and have card readers for mtgo. Competitive tournament coverage is for experienced players who already know what's happening from a name or picture
